One of the perks of living in a very old farm house is...no central heat or air. In the winter we use a wood burning stove and it does a pretty good job, but my kitchen is still cold. Foo is in the kitchen and its about 65*ish.

I know that buns do better in colder weather.
I've noticed that Foo has been on her blanket all day in the bread loaf position and her ears are cold. Her fur is puffed out too. She has eaten today, she's been pooping and peeing, and she'll kind of get up when I go into the kitchen. She sleeps most of the day, so I don't expect her to go nuts when I come in. She just opens an eye and is like "oh, hey"

Is she just cold? Is that why shes in a bunny loaf with cold ears?

With Winter fast approaching and so is the issue of cold weather. Bunnies handle the severe cold much better than they handle the severe heat. Cold weather will invigorate your rabbit and bring out its natural playfulness.

Just make sure rabbit is not getting a cold draft. Feed and water needs to be slightly increased during the colder weather. A rabbit burns off more calories just trying to maintain its body heat during this period.

Hope that helps =)

I've read that if their ears are cold, they are probably a little chilly since their ears are where heat escapes from their body. It's not necessarily bad for their ears to be cold, but she might appreciate another blanket or something. You could also try putting her blanket(s) inside a closed box (cut some entrance/exit holes). That would provide a kind of cave for her and help seal in some body heat.

Feed her more hay. This will help increase her internal body temp. Or you could always take her temp rectally. 101-103 is normal

From your description of her behavior, itsounds like she may be cool; however, 65 is far from cold for a rabbit. As someone else mentioned, is it possible she's in a draft? As Sarah suggested, eating more hay will help warm her some.

Oh its quite possible she is feeling a draft. I live in a very old and very drafty little house. She's in a pretty good spot, but there could be a draft. She's acting more normal now, I let her out and she has been running around and acting normal. So I don't know if she was just sleeping earlier in the bunny loaf position, with a little chill. But now, she seems better.

Gaz's ears feel cool when it's in the low 60s in my house (as it is today because I don't turn the heat on for anything 60F+) unless she and nala have been doing bunny-500s... compared to them always feeling rather warm when it's in the low 70's. (for some reason Nala's ears always seem to be the same neutral temp in the house.) I just turn the ceiling fan from high to medium in their room and they're fine. offering a cardboard box cave with a fleece blanket to sleep in wouldn't be a bad idea - mine have some cozy spots they can go if they want to.
