I noticed that Rice has this small circular baldspot on the bottom of her foot. It's pink. Itdoesn't look like a cut or anything and its not an open wound, justthis pink bald small circular spot. She doesn't appear to bein pain and she is running around and binkying like usual. There's no wires in her cage so if it is sore hocks i dont know how inthe world she got it. What do you think?DoI need to get her to the vet tonight? I've readup on sore hocks and I'm scared now. Thanks for your help!!

I wouldn't worry unless it isbleeding. I have a dutch that has bald spots on both her hindfeet. As long as it isn't open or bleeding, no need topanic. You could put some desitin on it.

Sore Hocks are caused by thin / poorly furred foot pads, which isgenetically inherited, not by the environment they live in(althoughthe environment can play a role in improving andworsening the condition).

As Starlight mentioned, it is nothing to worry about unless it'sulcerated &/or bleeding. THAT would be cause for avet visit.

Yes. Thin fur pads can definitely cause theproblem. If I were you, I'd put something like a bit of Neosporin in itor something like that.

Just make sure it's the plain neosporin, not the pain medkind, just the original.
GASP!!!

I didn't have the normal kind and i used the pain med kind.it was only a tiny little dab. what's gonna happen?is she gonna be ok? did i do something really bad??

Just wipe it off with a wet paper towel, then gobuy the regular stuff. There shouldn't be a problem unlessyou really gobbed it on and she licked it all off.
