I need some help for my rabbit! I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the fur was getting thinner on the back of his neck behind his ears. I thought maybe his bunny friend had been licking him too much back there, but now I have seen him scratching back there, quite vigorously, and now there is a large patch that is totally hairless, and it looks like the skin is irritated.
Is there something I can put on the area to make it less itchy, like Witch Hazel or cortisone cream? I know rabbits are very sensitive, and I don't want to put anything on there that would make it worse.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thank you for any help or advice you might have!
Info about the rabbit:
3-year-old mini Rex rabbit, high energy level, no other unusual symptoms. The rabbit he shares a cage with does not have the issue.
