Ok, being a HUGE fan of the TLC show, Trading Spaces, and being a graphic designer, I'd love to think I'm a interior designer too. I'm really good at matching colors, but I'm bad with the whole 'with form comes function.' Right now, everything at home is in the almost done phase. Rooms are painted and floored well, but there's hardly any pop to them. Since I'm currently unemployed and at home, I'm going bored here. So, I've been cleaning nonstop and trying to actually get this home in order. My current problem room: My living room.

Please disregard the messy table. Hubby worked 13 hours yesterday and kinda left stuff there. :)The walls are like a light creamy yellow, floor is golden wood, couch is like a charcoal gray, and the rug under the table has a lot of different colors.

Here's a sample of the rug (only it's the runner):

Now, I have burgandy floating shelves I'm gonna put on the wall, and I also have a wall piece that's up which is a spiral circle with leaves and 13 candles. Once I get photos up too, it will feel less sparse. My current issue is the windows:

They're not bad but they seem 'naked' to me. I was thinking burgandy drapes (because the windows can be kinda drafty) or a valance/scarf at the top?

Any ideas are welcome.

Or heck, post your favorite looking room you can find online here! Maybe we all can get some ideas.

Ugh, I had made some changes but it wont let me post the picture. But in the corner (not the one with the couch) a tall plant?. And the wall with the Couch&Window, A picture.

Hah I'm just trying to help but my idea sounds like poop. Have fun playing Trading Spaces.

Definitely drape, floor length. Target had some burgundy drapes with tone on tone leaves similar to the design in the rug.Think about breaking up the couch in 2 pieces to make 2 different seating arrangements. That floor is gorgeous!
