Some of us get income tax back at the end of the year and will use that to get things that we dont get through the year. So what will you spend yours on if you are getting one back?

I am praying that i am getting money back, i got one back last year ,lol.

my plans for this years income tax check is some of the following

1. I have to get two of my dogs teeth done, and my one dog has a giant lump on her head that has to be taken off.

2. I am putting some of it away for next years christmas shopping

3. Getting pet insurance for the three rabbits!!!!!!!

4. putting half of my sons preschool tuition away for next year because it is going up

5. then paying some of my credit card off.

6. oh i want to put some away for the winter's oil bill too

so do you have plans for yours, vacation, clothes, buying a luxury yatch? lol

i will have mine done by the end of Jan,lol, can you tell i need the money, lol

Husband and I bought our first house this year, so we'll be getting an extra little bit from that tax credit. Also our first year filing jointly, so I'm not sure how things will go.

For whatever I get back on my personal taxes, I will probably pay down a bit on my credit card. I would also like to get the pasta roller and cutting plate attachments that go with my KitchenAid mixer.

For our new-home tax credit, we will be splitting that up a couple ways. One portion will be extra on the mortgage payment, and an equal amount will go into the bank account for household emergencies. We still need a rug for the bedroom, and nicer window coverings for the bedrooms and rabbit room, so I'll be looking into that.
The remaining portion, husband and I will split. With my part of it, I am hoping to get Lasik surgery on my eyes. It won't be enough to cover the whole thing, but hopefully half or 1/3. I know a doctor that does 2 years with no interest financing, and I think I can manage that, if I pay a chunk of it up front.

OOOh I love back tax! Got mine back at March, was great mine was.......um whittled away on food? petrol? drinks? clothes? Don't do that, spend it wisely!

LOL Patti, I used to OWE money too, one year I owed so much that they penalized me interest for holding out on them throughout the year!!! It was absolutely miserable. I, too, subsequently bought a home and mortgage tax has been a cushy credit on my tax return, and ever since then not only do I not owe, I get a huge chunk of change back! I had borderline a jumbo loan and paying over 30 yrs = lots of interest credited back.

This year may be more complicated still, because I refinanced and honestly will need to hire maybe a h&r Block kind of service to figure it all out for me. I've been turbo-taxing my returns for 2 years but with the change in mortgage terms, additional taxation durin the refi I think I will need a professional to help me not get in trouble with the IRS. I hope I still get money back though.

I usually spend it on something techie, a gadget or something. Nothing comes to mind and if I don't spend it, I put it in my savings account that ibdont do day to day banking in - like a locked vault, for a rainy day!

Hmm...Mine will all go to my parents to go towards paying off the 5g I owe them. I don't think I'll get more than that, lol. Or close to that.

I own my home also, but the tax and interest deductions aren't enough to make a difference.

Our list for 2010.

2, Get all kids new clothes, because they need it.
I do not know what I will buy for my animals,( 3 rabbits, 2 dogs, and fish)
3. Bills, ect that the house needs.

We are filing jointly for the first time this year and I really hope we will great a great deal back, as we need to use 100% of it on my dog grooming school tuition & the costs of travel/rent/food ($8k).

I don't know how much I'll get back this year, but whatever it is it'll be going into my savings vault too. I keep squirreling away money and shaving expenses to help cover Diagnostic Medical Sonography school in another year. I might use some of it to give my car a tune up and overall check up also or maybe some new tires. Very exciting stuff, lol. :p:D

Spend? Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't got any money back in years. I think last year I owed about $2700.

I think I can concur with that. I don't have human kids, and I don't have a mortgage, so I'm pretty SOL on tax refunds.

If we get something back bills.

Yep, that's pretty much me. They really penalize the folks who have paid off homes and have chosen not to have children. I hear that they are considering a deduction for pet medical bills. I can't really say that will help me much either. All of the vet bills I pay are a donation to the rescue, so I am already getting that benefit. Thank goodness we don't have state income tax here like we did in California.
