We've been watching the second season of Leverage and last week's episode (which is now FINALLY up on TNT) was probably the best episode so far.

A bit of backstory...in the very first episode - someone hired four crooks to pull a job and then hired former insurance investigator Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton) to keep an eye on them and be the mastermind.

Then - once the job was done - the guy set them up to get killed...and they escaped in time to save their lives - and then worked together to get revenge.

At the end of last season they broke up and stopped working together due to some issues that arose during the last two episodes (one of their own..conned them).

In this season - they are back together working again with some changes going on...for example, the mastermind has stopped drinking because he realized he was an alcoholic.

Here are the key people you will want to know...

Hardison - the computer geek - he does other things too - but mainly he does computer stuff and is a total genius at it - frequently you'll see him do things that remind you of Will Smith or Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop character...

Parker - the awesome thief (who is my son's wallpaper for his computer) - who has Aspinger's (sp??) and doesn't know how to get along with people.

Sophie - the grifter/con artist who tried to be the mastermind in a recent episode because she needed some control over her life since her boyfriend just dumped her.

Eliot (my favorite - Christian Kane) - the "hitter" who does most of the muscle work but also does some other work. Don't know his full history by any means - but we know he can identify former CIA agents by the way they stand, former marines (in a special unit) by the way the fight with their knives - and the sound of various weapons (because they have a "distinctive" sound).

and finally - Tim Hutton - aka Nathan Ford - the mastermind.

In this episode I'm linking to - the team goes to help someone recover a stolen painting - only to discover there is another team who has beat them to the painting. They're about to give up when one of their team is sent a bomb....

One of the funniest scenes is watching Will Wheaton (Wesley from Star Trek) dueling it out against Hardison in a parking lot - both with their keyboards - with Western music playing.

It looks good I like the Elliot character, I remember him from Angel. His persona is great, reminds me of a Steven Seagal kind of attitude.
I really want to watch the series now lol but don't know if they will be airing it in the UK.

I know it plays on netflix for watching on the computer/tv. I'm not sure where else to find it - other than tnt.tv where they have the last few episodes.

We bought the dvd set for season one when it came out in July.

I might try watching it on netflix then but if not, I'll either just have to wait and see or get that regional dvd player I've been meaning to buy so, I can watch the dvd set lol

If you like Eliot like I do - you'll enjoy the following episodes: "The Two Horse Job", "The First David Job" (he actually gets whooped in that one...and the guy who he's fighting is one of his best friends in real life), "The Second David Job" and "The Tap Out Job".

He does all of his own stunts and fighting from what I've read - he's a trained fighter.

I loved the Tap Out Job (which I think is still up on tnt.tv - not sure) - because you really got to see a different side of him when he talks to Sophie.

There was another episode - I want to say it is the "Order 23 Job" which makes me think that maybe the character was abused as a child.

My son and I have been talking the team for a bit - and if you watch the show enough you come to see Sophie & Nate as mom & dad to the team and the other three are like kids the way they interact with each other (although Parker & Hardison do have feelings for each other). But in the Hunter Job - they were teasing Parker because she is so gullible - and in another job (I forget which one) - Eliot is telling Nate "She poked me" and acting like a little kid.

Really great ensemble cast of characters...
