I was robbed!!!

This evening I had an unauthorized transaction on my account for $200!!! This was through paypal and it came right out of my bank. I just want to give warning to everyone to make sure that you change your passwords often and make sure you delete cookies and such. This is rediculous. I thought paypal was the SAFE way to go! :X

Have you reported this to Paypal? Perhaps they can do something about it.

:bunnyhug:have you contacted paypal? they can be a bit pedantic but if you can persevere you should get somewhere. i'd also contact my bank - the one you use to fund your paypal account. make a fuss! and good luck

Well I called Paypal and they we actually pretty good about it. They knew it was unauthorized so they reversed the payment. I should have the $$ back in the account in a day or so. Now I have to go to the bank and try to get them to drop the charges that comes with an overdrawn account.Something we shouldnt have to pay as this was NOT our doing......what a freaking mess!

At the bank, you could ask to fill out an affidavit of forgery. That's how banks refund money that is stolen (after investigation). But since the money is refunded, you should go talk to the manager, explain the situation, and see if you can get the fees reversed. Good luck!

Do you know how it might've happened? Like, did you purchase something through PayPal and someone just took extra money or what?

Hopefully you'll be able to get that money back! $200 is quite a lot! Especially with the economy in the shape it is.

Well, someone hacked into my account and took it out. They hacked into it from Florida...sheesh. I did have everything fixed thank goodness. I am now pulling my account out of paypal. No more for me. I dont want to go through that again.
