Show I went to an open show today not to show, but to get a feel for things and I met up with a few breeders that I had been chatting with via email.
I talked quite a bit with the breeder that I had bought my chocolate havana and then chatted and watched the judging on a few other breeds.
I have yet to decide what coloration (besides chocolate) I would like to get my Havanas into and have been thinking about getting a second breed.
Dwarf Hotots, I LOVE them and they seem like a pretty fun and slightly hard (dealing with sports/mis marks) breed and would love to do a dwarf breed. There aren't too many breeders in our area (actually no breeder lol) and ran into a few at the show, including a woman from canada. I had found out about the show in the first place via email from a couple of hotot breeders.
Long story short I ended up taking 4 dwarf hotots home
**They are not posed as they have just come home and need to settle in
First doe (she hasn't hit breeding age yet) She's a sport, meaning she has bad marks on her if you can't tell lol; but fully pedigreed and has GREAT body type (though the picture does not show it). The breeder I bought her from said that she's bred to sports before in order to get the mix of correct coloration and type.
Wow didn't see that she was moving while I took this lol I'll have to geta few newpics with them posedonce they settle in.
Second Doe, she's a tad long in the back but is proven, fully pedigreedand has babies on the show table. Before she went into breeding she did nicely on the show table herself, her breeder gave me her ribbons and score cards for keepsakes.
Buck 1, he's smaller than he looks in the pic (thanks to my 'lovely' phone's camera). Lovely pedigree andhas shownnicely.
Buck 2, I'm in love with this guy. When posed he's perfect lol but you can see he's not anywhere close. He has wonderful bands and lovely type (only that he's molting now). I got him from a breeder that didn't bring anything to sell butother heardthat I was wanting to get into the breed He's won several 1st's and 2nd's and BOS(again I have his ribbons and judge cards to see how they scored him). On his Dam and Sire each have a list of their own BOB and BOS winnings as well. I'm super excited to get him showing for myself and to get my first litter from him. ^_^
Phew it's been a lot..and expensive day lol but it was well worth it!
