I bought one but I am afraid to use it.

I read some nasty incidents on another site that occurred when using one.

I would love to use it but I'm afraid to apply any pressure..how much pressure should I apply when trying to comb through a short-hair.?

I just applied light pressure, just about as much as I would when grooming them with my fingers. Try brushingthe underside ofyour forearmto feel how much pressure to apply.

Hmm...i will have to look around and see if we have anything like that over here ;)

yeah you do have to be careful with it - i did the same thing haly suggested... i brushed my arm with it. You shouldn't really drag it on their skin because it is scratchy, just pull it through the fur.

There's alot of cheap Furminators on ebay. I'm not too sure if it's the real thing.

Can any kind souls take a pic of the Furminator original packagingand post it?

Plssss.. :biggrin2:

i am ADDICTED to ebay!!! why didn't i think about looking for it there? hahaha

Cause then you would look at other stuff and end up racking up a huge bill of course! :p

I will look into getting one. Find it a tad expensive and my brushes work ok... But I'll check it out since you guys say it's the best and really worth it:)

Hmmm... I'm going to have to look into this. Goose sheds like you would not believe, all the time, and regular brushes don't seem to help much. (heads for ebay)

I look but don't buy anything on ebay.
Shipping is so expensive. Then I get hit with a customs charge.

It would be cheaper for me to go to the store and pick it up there.

Here ya go! :)

Thanks! :)

Do you guys think it's possible to get such cheap Furminators? $0.99 + $6.50 shipping?

Now here's a really stupid question, does it have a razor in it? Looking at the picture Haley put up it kinda does to me.

Thanks

Gosh Im not sure. I guess its possible if they were stolen or something. lol

Does the pic look the same and everything? Ebay (and paypal) both have guarantees so they reimburse you if you dont get the product or something. At that cheap though... "if it sounds too good to be true..." ;)

Everything can be copied down to the last bit. We wouldn't know unless we've used/seen the real furminator. :?

I just bought the Furminator, gosh I wish I lived in the States everything is so much cheaper, even with our Canadian:Canada small: dollar almost at par with the American:USA: dollar I still paid $42.99 plus tax.

It seemed to work pretty good on Daisy Mae, the real test will be Jackie & Wilbur as the are shedding really bad. Now I have to go and try to catch one of them. They really hate to be picked up especially Jackie. I brush them on our bathroom counter and Jackie tries to jump on our shoulder and then onto the floor. She's a real little devil:devil. I'll let you know how it works on them.

I'd just bought one too! I had been wondering about it for awhile, and I saw someone talk about it in their blog (YukonDaisy?) and then Haley started this thread so I bought it. It works pretty well on the bunnies, definately less messy than the Zoom Groom, which Loki and Sprite both attack with a passion. It is the BEST THING EVER for my cats! OMG I am getting so much fur off of them! Eve feels so much more smooth now that all her dead undercoat fur is gone.
