Here in my computer room I had a tall, bulky desk. I ended up moving it downstairs and moved a more "petite" antique table into the room to work on.

I haven't been happy with the looks of the room in a while so I ended up moving stuff around some more.

The new computer table is by the window. I can now look outside while I browse. Well, at least that was my intent.

One of my cats has claimed the corner of the table as his so he sits in my way. Of course, the mini blinds bothered him so he pawed them ragged. I had a new set to put up (eventually) but I HAD to since he went wild.

All should be well, but of course he's now tearing at the long curtian in HIS way, so I may have to replace that - or tie it back somehow. (There goes my privacy when someone comes to the front door)

The main reason I moved stuff around was to get the wire dog crate in here. My girl Coda isn't doing well so I want her to be close at hand at all times. Of course, the crate wouldnt fit unless I moved some furniture - which is why I started this project (mess!!) in the first place.

Happy new year, my room is wrecked!

LOL

Just a note to help you with the "curtain" issue. If you want to block the window but not your view, they have these sheets of stuff you can buy, cut to the appropriate size and then you clean the window really well, spray a mixture of baby oil and water (you also need a squeegie) on the window and then place the sheet on. The directions sort of made me think it would be hard, but it was simple! I put a sheet on my window in the bedroom several years ago and it's still there, clear to see out - but it's sort of mirrored to the outside, and sunshield to the inside. I can see out but no one can see in. They also have some other styles like stained glass, crackle glass, and things like that but you can't see out very easily.

Our animals rule don't they? Tank has a thing about chewing on the mini-blinds..... Sydney has ruined several by sticking her nose behind them (I sometimes forget to raise them up) and she breaks the ends. They're navy blue. Not easy to find. (my red, white and blue room LOL)

Then there are the nose/slime prints on the windows..... Ugh!

I can sympathize too....I've gone through at least 3 sofas in the past 10 years; my kitchen chairs have chew marks all over them; kitchen table - scratches; the carpet (and now part of the hardwood) ruined in the rabbit room (which is why I purchased a huge cage online this morning...somebunny now has to be confined when I'm not home); numerous cords chewed; mini-blinds bent and broken; wallpaper eaten; wood floors scratched; more vacuums than I care to remember...etc. (ad infinitum, actually).

I think to be a pet owner you have to possess 1/3 patience, 1/3 ability to deal with disasters, and 1/3 sense of humor...or at least the ability to laugh when you just don't have it in ya to cry anymore. :biggrin2:

LOL! Yes! They always mysteriously appear after The Dog sees/hears something outside:

"OMIGOD!! OMIGOD!!! MOM!!! Come quick!!! There's a HUGE monster with enormous fangs and razor-sharp claws 'n' he's running down the street! He's chasing things and he's drooling and he's eating people and he's...!!!! Oh. Wait. It was just a paper bag. Never mind."

:grumpy:

LOL! Would the critter having to be in a cage be YOFI???

Sydney hears anything remotely like someone outside and we get "whoof" - if it's "Daddy" coming home it's "WOOF! WOOF!!!! WOOFWOOF!"

She can be sitting right in the same room as "daddy" and if we say "Sydney, Daddy home??" She'll run to the front door or window and bark........ :craziness

Moan, this room was overdue for a cleaning! Not so much that it was dirty or disorganized, but I have a lot of *stuff*

I joined the local freecycle group and ended up giving away 2 boxes and 4 paper bags of books and I still have a ton.

I don't even want to think about the magazines I have. I have a collection of gardening magazines, Smithsonian magazines, national geographic.

I feel like I got a lot done so Im pretty happy right now. :)
