Oh, Varna, I am so glad you are getting Lucyspayed. Try not to worry too much - from what you've told me, your vetsounds really good and knows what he is doing. Just make sure that shedrinks afterwards, and give her some of her favourite things to eat.Oh, and plents of cuddles of course. I'll email youtomorrow! - Jan

Varna,

Something like less than a fraction of one per cent of spayed rabbitssuffer any ill consequences as a result of the procedure. Youprobably have a higher risk of being hit with a passing brick than ofLucy having anything go wrong with her.

Many of us will be thinking of you two and sending prayers out for a successful spay. We gotch your back here, Kiddo!

Aww Sweetie,

I know your worries. Lucy is ready for this operation. You've got agreat vet, Lucy's young, healthy, and she's got you to come home to.

As Jan said, you've done your homework on the doctors, trust them. I know that's the hardest part.

Please let us know when she goes in and the minute she gets into the Recovery Room.

She'll be okay, Dear Heart. These things are usually so much harder on the parents than they are on the rabbits these days.

I'll be waiting to hear from you.

Much Love,
-Carolyn

Hi Addeytrix,

I don't believe we've talked before but my baby (Faye)had the samething done on Monday of this week. It was the first time forme to go through this. It was scary( for me) and now 4 dayshave passed for my girl and she is doing great. When you gether home just be there for her. I let Faye know I was thereby Falling asleep every night with my hand under the bed on herback. I also feed Faye anything she would eat ( even herfavorite, bread). It took acouple days for her to get back infull swing, but she did ( everyday she got alittle better). Iput a bowl of water under the bed as well as the food( which was alwaysavailable) which I changed out every two hours. I also lenther my soft blanket that I put under the bed all this week( its pinktoo, lol, I'm sure girl rabbits love that color, lol) and for the firsttwo nights I would put a heating blanket under the bed so she can layon it if she wants( suggestion from a good friend ofmine).also make sure with the heating blanket there isconstant super vision, make sure the cord is notout in theopen to be chumped on( I would hate for her to do that or even start afire), and is good for your little bun to have the option of lying onit but in my mind( the way my parents raised my , scared, lol) I wouldalways be there when its under the bed. I also tryed thepellet slurp ( pellets and water in a syringe) but after soaking thepellets to mush the but that didnt work for me. So I wouldpick up a can of pumpkin( which should be done anyway)( I'm pretty surethats why Faye is doing so well) and give her a 6ml anywhere from twoto three times aday. I tasted the pumpkin mix and didnt likeits so I made sure to have a 15ml syringe of water to wash down thetaste and also ( my main reason) to keep her hydrated.Alsosomething that really made me lose it was her muscles were kind ofvibrating but no fear thats a repercussion of the meds from the surgerywearing off( perhaps as long as two days) but also make a cleardifference in the fact that she may be cool sokeep the tempway up( I had 70 degrees). You can tell if shes cool by herears.

So good luck

hope I helped
