I don't know how to get Foo to stop pooping in my floor!
hahaha. I know its part of rabbit owning, but ever time I let her out, its like a 6 lb poop bomb goes off in the floor.
I have the cage door open for her to get in and out, I have a second litter box out of the cage that has her poop in it. She refuses to use it.

I'm getting her spayed in November, for my birthday. So, maybe that will help.

But until then, is there a way to get her to poop in the box? She doesn't always poop in the box in her cage, but pees in it every time (now, hahah). I mean, I don't mind sweeping up the poop because its easy, but geez, I have a second litter box for her!

OK so first off it will get better after the spay.
Second you should confine her to a smaller space with her box and keep placing the poops that she spreads back in the box...But putting her in a smaller area with her box will help her get the idea faster.

---merely as a suggestion, you might try using a fresh poop box daily with only edible grasses-ie.timothy/orchard --this way she can eat and do her thing..--sincerely james waller-:big wink:

I clean her litter box out daily, I've been PUTTING poop in her second litter box so she can smell it in there and maybe be prompted to poop in it.
She gets hay in both of her litter boxes. She will get into the second one to eat the hay, but doesn't poop in it.

The second litter box is the issue one, not her in-cage litter box. But I think I'm going to follow Katie's advice and section her off to see if she'll use the new box.
And of course, getting her spayed should fix all the problems. That's coming soon.

And, I totally understand that sometimes there will be stray poops, that doesn't bother me. But, sometimes I'm amazed at how much she can poop in such a short period of time.

Yes I agree with Katie and limit her space. I bet you will see a huge decrease with the spay. I was amazed at the change with Agnes. She barely left a poop out of her litterbox after.

Those hormones are racing through her! It's just in her psyche to leave droppings for a male to smell (even though she's an only indoor bunny, lol) and marking what territory is hers.

I thought that getting my girls spayed would help with litter box habits as well. In fact it has gotten WORSE since they have been spayed. It seems to go in waves.

Hmm.. I'm hoping the spay will help.

My bun is older, so I'm wondering if the pooping is just a habit. I have made her a grated litter box like the storm haven one... that seemed to help a great deal!
