The trick is to get the srynge far enough intothe mount where they cannot spit it out. Sometimes they likethe taste and take it easily. Other times you have to get itpast their front teeth and give some at a time. It can befrustrating. Especially when they are turning their head fromside to side.

She just got fixed today, right? If so,she's probably not going to be hungry for awhile. If she'snot eating or pooping by tomorrow night I would be worried. As far as syringe feeding goes....just insert the food into thesyringe, squeeze her cheeks open and push down the syringe.Hope that helps. :)

I would say the most important part of syringe feeding is taking it slow so the rabbit doesn't aspirate liquid into it's lungs.

I would say it isn't unusual that she isn't interested ineating/drinking quite yet. How many hours has she been home? Have youtried some greens or a fruit that is high in water content? I am gladthat you will take her to the vet if there is no still no interest ineating or drinking.

I believe when Lissa had Lenci spayed that she didn't poo for quite afew hours after surgery ( I believe it happend over-night, sorry if Iam wrong on that Lissa!)

Good luck with Lucy and keep us updated, it is always so nerve wrackingwhen they are not their typically happy selves. Will say a prayer foryou and Lucy tonight.

I find approaching from the side of the faceBEHIND the front teeth work best. Try not to put to much inat a time. but trying to get it far back enough that it doesn't alldrip or get spit out. best of luck. hope she decides to chowdownon her own

You're right. She was spayed on a Friday morning and I didn't see poo until Saturday evening.

If she just got fixed she should eat within thefirst day. If not, then she will need to go to the vet for IVfluids and you will have to force feed. Try parsley, stickthe stem end in the mouth and gently push. The have no choicebut to chew, you just have to keep gently pushing. it workswell for my one problem child.

Give her all her favorites treats. Just make sure she's eating something.
