Rambo likes to pee and leave poops on the sofa whenever he’s left unattended or when I’m not in the room. This happens a lot overnight (it’s often a surprise in the morning to see what he’s left me…). He’s very well toilet trained otherwise so I think it’s a territorial thing.
I’ve tried putting him into a pen whenever I catch him however he doesn’t like being picked up so this didn’t work out.
He was neutered the beginning of Jan so I’m hoping his territorial behaviours start to settle. At the moment our routine consists of constant washing of the blankets.. Im struggling to think of how to stop him doing this particularly as he always does this when unattended.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Here’s a pic of the pee/poop devil

Hormones can take as long as 6-8 weeks post neuter to fully dissipate.
In the meantime, I'd suggest blocking off the couch when you aren't around or confining him to an area that prevents access to the couch. You don't want him establishing this behavior as a habit.

If he continues to try to do this after the hormones have faded, covering the couch with a waterproof cover, blocking access, or keeping him in a pen at night might be necessary. You can also try keeping a blanket of his with his scent on it, on the couch. This is sometimes enough to convince a rabbit they don't need to continue to scent mark.

thank you that’s helpful. I purchased a waterproof sofa protector to only find out it was water resistant and it seeped through… we’ve tried building a fort of duvets and cushions and blocking off with an xpen but he still manages to get up there. It’s jus a shame because I want him to be free roaming 24/7 but I feel I’m at a loss. He loves going up there 😞

I've tried 2 different waterproof blankets and neither of them leaked when peed on (links below). The first one I bought was gorgeous (and expensive!) but really fluffy, which was a problem because it turns out that some bunnies will pee on anything soft. After I turned the blanket over and started keeping it tucked in to the cushions she stopped peeing on it.

My last girl liked to pee on my couch.
When she was young I'd soak up the pee with a couple squares of toilet paper and put it into her littler box (along with any stray poops) then I'd take vinegar and spot clean the pee area to get the scent out.
It didn't stop her from peeing on my couch (she also dug at the couch when I was at work, grabbing the fluff for her false pregnancies) so I too think it was a territorial thing.
When I brought my lionhead home and I got them both fixed, my girl stopped peeing on my couch 🤷‍♀️

One other thing to try as the hormones settle. We bought big plastic storage bins and put those, both the lids and the bins, on and around the couch. Even if Artie got on the couch, he didn't poo or pee on it.
We also found it took him about 5 months for the hormones to fully settle.

I’m stalking this one, Gillian always pees on my bed if givin the chance otherwise she is good on litter box but I tried many of the options , just not cool lol . Day 2 I was like let’s see what she does I woke to an outline of turds too l😜 . I really want to free roam as well but that’s just taking it to far!

Thanks everyone for your helpful suggestions and comments :) so I’ve purchased a pawsee waterproof blanket from Amazon (according to the reviews it’s waterproof and not water resistant!).
We’ve also got a big plastic board to go in front of the sofa to block it off at night and when we’re out. This has seemed to work so far - I know he’s attempted to jump and failed…
Whenever he does get on we gently chase him off the sofa which he seems to think is fun and binkies..
I’ve purchased a water mister which I will also try if I catch him on there as I’ve read that may help stop him.
Hopefully he will get bored and stop by the time he’s hormones settle!
