Ringo has been sick since day one that we got him. He never seemed to get the hormonal peak like Connor. Is it possible that now that this new med is working that is why it started?

He is a humming, spraying, and humping little fool. The poor target is my dog who I now have to lock up when he is out. The poor thing starts crying because she doesn't know what to do.

If this is the case I am not sure what to do. Connor has never gone after the dog. He is too neat to spray. He is an odd duck. Ringo is everything I have heard. I also saw it with Elvis but he (Elvis) is alreadyoff to be fixed.

Should I elimantate(sp?) all contact with the others? The spraying is getting gross. I am tempted to set him up in the extra pen, with guards so that he can't destroy are apt. It's not fair to him but also not fair to the others that he is driving them nuts. Also this stupid apt has tan carpets, tan walls. So yea urine stands out and it's a pain to get out. Is it wrong to confine him to the pen? Mind you it is a large pen.

Also when I spoke to the vet she said that if Connor stays clear theway he has been, that it is very possible to get him fixed. She saidshe has great hope for Connor.

I have to keep all mine in separate areas, it's just too much work to keep up with the marking. They smell another rabbit (or cat or strange human), and they MUST re-mark!

With Ringo, sure sounds territorial, maybe inspired by his good health, or possibly by the addition of Elvis.

I know Pipp flat out attacked the cats when she hit her teens, and that part went away when she was spayed, buta cat still can't come into HER room without fear of mutilation. Dill and Sherry will lunge at the cats if I'm petting them in their presence, bunnies can be very jealous!

Sometimes (often, even), too much area isn't good, so the pen isn't cruel. Pipp had runof the house, but she's actually happier to be confined to the bedroom, she has less territory to stake out, she appreciates it, so's see much calmer. No interest whatsoever in leaving my room.

Darry and Radar live in a porch in the back, and they can run around the back bedroom once or twice a day as well, but even if there wasn't a gate, they won't leave that room.

And Dill and Sherry ended up locked in the front hall, bathroom and basement landing while I was bunny-sitting, and didn't seem too upset about it. Sherry was definitely more upset when I let her back in the living room, she spent hours and hours circling the new bunnies' pen, and pooping and peeing, she was exhausted. (Meanwhile the unneutered Zeke was on the inside ofthe pen spraying everything in sight!). It was getting better after about a month, but then the new bunnies left, so...

Hmm. I think he is destined to be a pen bun. I don't think either of us feel safe with him being fixed. I am scared to put him under.

My bun is quite happy with her pen (which is attached to the NIC condo I built for her). I had hoped to have her free-run in a fairly large room, but that was just too much space for her when I first brought her hom - not in terms of needing to mark so much as her being small and loving to hide out and not be made to go back inside her condo.

I fenced off a portion of the room (LR) about two weeks after getting her, and she seems to prefer to be inside her condo/pen a lot of the time - even when the pen gate is open (several hours per day). I think she loves having her own space - as far as I'm aware, that's something she'd never experienced before I adopted her.

The big thing (for me) was to understand that buns could have limitations on space but still be happy - and Nibbles became much happier (and far more relaxed) after I got the pen.

So hang in there - am sure your little guy will do just fine.

Well the plan is to get NIC cages for them with plenty of room. Well all but Samantha she stays in a pen. Ringo when let out will go to the pen. I just have to make it intresting for him.

As noted in another post, I have a cardboard boxes with holes cut in them as a hidey boxes, with two exits and a towel inside for them to push around, that's their fav setup.

Check out Naturestee's blog, I think Mr. Stee built and amazing pop can box fort for their crew.

Just be careful with the escape artists -- Zeke and Baxter would both push their boxes to the side of the x-pen, hop on top and jump over. I had to get creative with NIC panels blocking portions of the top, anchor the boxes to the side of the pen and/orput up a fence of higher panels around thatarea.
