I’m a new member I live in Arizona and I just recently have two baby Desert Cottontails.
They are about 5 weeks old. I’ve named them Hazel and Fiver.

Welcome to the forum.
If I'm not mistaken, one needs a permit in order to keep wild cottontail rabbits. They really are not suited to captivity and do best in the wild.
No not where I live but thanks for the info. I am also a rescue of birds mainly but they are fine here. They would get eaten by a wild coyote, hawk, ran over by a car, hunted by humans, or something like that so they are safe here in my care. They are not very afraid of humans at all so they can’t be released anyways. They eat normal rabbit diet and I don’t think they would know how to get food from the wild if I just took them and dropped them off. They love me and they already groom me and lick me… they run to me for pets and they also jump up on the be to sleep and cuddle with me. I don’t think they’d do well in the wild.

Hi!
What's the story here? Were they abandoned or handed off to you? I once had a baby squirrel run to my leg and cling to it crying. I was told not to raise it myself, but I totally regret it now. I wish I kept that gift from God. We named her Anne Squirrelly for 24 hours before someone convinced us to give them to a wildlife rehab. 🙃
How did these cuties end up in your care?
