Well....originally, I started this, and I hadthis whole big thing all written out.....but then I attached a pictureand it was too big, so I lost it all :( So here it is again...

My rabbit's name is Butterfinger, but we call him Butter most of thetime. He's a large, three-year-old Holland Lop buck (So bigthat his breeder sold him to me because he was too big to show....andhe wasn't even a year old yet! ) Anyway, he's about six orseven pounds, and....he has a phobia of being picked up. Idon't know if he just doesn't like the feeling, or he's afraid ofheights or what, but he will run away and hide if he thinks you'regoing to pick him up. He's a real sweetheart otherwise, though; he loves being petted and will sit still for it as long as youstill have feeling in your hands to continue doing so.
As for me; I'm eighteen, and I'm going to college next year... I wantto take Butter with me. So I'll be transitioning him from hisoutside hutch to an inside cage and litterbox....I hope it doesn'ttraumatize him TOO much.... :?
And...I don't really trust the attachment box, now, so I'm gonna see ifI can just upload a picture to photobucket and use that instead....(Because he's too cute to not show to people :bunnyheart )

(Okay! And if this entry is done the wrong way, or in the wrong place, I'm sorry! I really didn't know.... :cry4: )

Welcome to RO!

Butterfinger is one handsome fellow. You'll find tons and tons of useful information in the Rabbits Only Resource Center.

Oh, and we all LOVE pictures, so feel free to post pictures to your heart's content! ;)

What a cutie pie! I hope he takes tobeing indoors. I love having my rabbits in the house withme. Two of them had been kept in an outside cage for theirfirst year and a half but they adjust pretty well. Althoughif you want you could start training him to the litterbox right now soit doesn't seem so strange.;)

And yes, post lots of pics! You could make a whole blog forhim in the Bunny Blog section. Since you're already usingPhotobucket, you can copy and paste the IMG line here so that thepicture will show up here instead of having to click a link.

And definately check out the Resource Center! Especiallybefore you buy a cage, because you can make much better ones for muchcheaper out of wire shelving grids. Here's a thread with lotsof examples:

Hello, Butterfinger!! Welcome to the forum!

Butter is so cute!! I just love lops...they've got a sweet little face all their own, don't they?

Congratulations on going to college! That's wonderful!

I'm sure he'll transition from outside to in just fine, Hun...just tryto relax and have patience. You've got a whole year to worryabout it, so it'll work out good.

Check out the thread here on Litter Training. It has many helpful ideas and hints:

Also, feel absolutely free to post any questions or problems you mayencounter. We'd LOVE to help you both in thistransition. I think you'll find that he really likes beingindoors. :)

Anyway, see ya around the forum! :)
