What "that powder"? Quiq stop? Starch?
Whatever your vet said, is probably not so trustworthy, as i've seen(and read) many people use quiqq stop or starch to stop minor bleedings. As to how a VET could (accidentally?) cut a rabbit's nails too short? Is the vet really savvy?

Even dogs get cut too short sometimes. When the nail is black, it happens every now and then

Okay, i didn't know your bun had black nails. That makes things just a tad bit harder, but yeah, thanks for letting me know.

the "shelves" are additional layers that the bunnies can get up to for some additional living space. They are now lined with blank cardboard so they aren't sitting on wire. and yes the white part is corrugated plastic.
It just looks too easy for them to jump out of. My lop jumped over ours and it's three feet high, so we're adding a roof to it.

Yeah, just a couple went too short. They had never been trimmed before. (Past owner neglected them terribly). I had him neutered on Wednesday and his teeth were trimmed as well. Poor guy couldn't chew anything

@Donna Standar could you get me a photo of what your rabbit's teeth look after being trimmed? I am not sure if my bun has too long front teeth or not.
We had rabbits long before, bit we didn't really "care" for them the way we do for Musti now. Thanks!

Also- i left out that we are planning to get Willow spayed ASAP. Researching Kenosha WI vets over the next few days.

I also live in Wisconsin, fond du lac! If you don't end up finding a vet you are comfortable with or pricing , I can always refer you to my vet! They are wonderful, super rabbit savvy and the price for spaying is incredible compared to many around here!! Feel free to message me if needed!:)

@Donna Standar we did add a roof to the cages.
@everyone else we didn’t separate, against everyone’s advice. I’d say this is the only thing we didn’t follow advice on so far, tbh. We sort of ran out of space, so we blocked off most but not all visual contact so that they wouldn’t get scared (from not knowing what’s making that noise), but they would each get the chance to retreat to privacy if needed/wanted.

Anyway- homecoming went really well. It was difficult convincing my kids to leave the buns alone for awhile, but they listened (sometimes).
Archie and willow both seem to be doing fine, eating, pooping, hopping around, etc.
Archie is the shyest of the two.
I’m adding some pics below. Before I sign off for the night, any last things I should know regarding contact, bonding (between humans and bunny... not bunny-> bunny), etc?

Thanks again to all of you great humans for your help!

Glad all went well with the homecoming. They sure are VERY cute additions to your family. They look happy and healthy. Congrats on your new family members. Sounds like they are getting lots of love and attention, maybe was a good distraction for the buns. Hope they get used to their new home fast, I think they will have lots of help with that. Enjoy!!
Oh, looks like the cardboard between was a good idea. They can still see each other without doing any extra activities. ;)

I havn't had any luck posting photos on here. I brought the teeth home though and there were two that measured two centimeters . And the other two were about one centimeter. Way too long

That's awesome, was hard to see in the photo. Looks great, where did you get the plastic sheets from. Thats a great idea

Plastic was bought at Lowe’s - it’s corrugated like cardboard. a 48"x96" sheet was ~$30. then I measured the inner floorspace of the cage, added about 6" to all four sides and cut it, folding up the 6" sides to create a basin.

Hopefully your rabbits won't chew on it you never know, it is actually very dangerous if they eat some because it can cause a blockage. After one of my rabbits made this I had to remove all plastic, replaced all plastic bowls and covered plastic edges where possible with wood or a few layers of cardboard so they have better options when they are getting bored. For your setup I would place grids inside so plastic edges are behind the bars and also make a border of a cardboard a bit higher than plastic sides and put it between the grids and plastic edges. I can take a pic tomorrow if you want too, I replaced as much plastic as I could with wood and cardboard. Keeps them busy as well.
