I need some advice. My rabbits breathing is raspy and she's coughing. I'm worried I've had her for 3 yrs and she just started doing this if she's sick I've no money to bring her to a vet. Are there any other alternatives anyone can give me?! Please help me out! :(

Exactly when did it start? Have you been using any new perfumes or laundry detergents? Is her litter box/cage clean? These are questions the vet will ask but it sounds like she really needs to see the vet asap. Respiratory issues are quick and dangerous to small animals. I hope she's ok!

a vet is probably unavoidable with a respiratory illness :( perhaps you can find a vet who would be willing to set up a payment plan for you? you could also try calling a rabbit sanctuary if there's one in your area, explaining you've got some financial difficulties but your rabbit is sick, and see if they'd be willing to do a very low-cost exam. she most likely needs antibiotics, so an at-home remedy isn't an option.

:yeahthat:

So sorry you and your bunny are going through this. It's heart breaking when they are sick and you don't feel you can afford help for them. Don't have any answers but sending love and prayers. If you post in the "Infirmary" section, you might get other ideas.
