Mopsy got neutered on Thursday.Today i noticed that some stitches looked a little raw and there was a tiny blody spot on the inside of his leg.
I cleaned it up with h.peroxide....and Im really worried...
I had my female bunny spayed and her stitches looked just fine....
Its sunday and the clinic is closed(we have only 2 clinics that take exotics)...I don't know what to do ...Is it serious?
And the vet also didn't give us any antibiotics, she said he didn't need any...But as far as I know you supposed to give antibiotics to an animal after the surgery ...

He might have been pulling at his stitches. Bring him in to the vet on Monday. You can put some plain Neosporin (not Neosporin Plus) on the wound. I wouldn't recommend hydrogen peroxide as it can harm the skin. Let us know how the vet visit goes!

Most vets dont give antibiotics after a spay/neueter. Its usually is not necessary.

As naturestee said, I would just put a bit of neosporin on it until tomorrow. Just keep an eye on it to be sure it isnt bleeding or swelling.

I would also keep an eye on him to make sure he's not pulling at the stiches. If he is,you would have to get him a collar from the vets.

Is he otherwisedoing okay? Eating anddrinking and going to the bathroom normally?

naturestee, Haley thank you
Just got back from a vet.Found an animal clinic that works 7 days a week.
Vet said that the bunny's fine, said that he doesn't need any special care and that spotting is normal.
So I guess I'm just a hypochondriac:?
Oh and he said that its better not to use Neosporin because it slows the healing down.:(
