I think my rabbit has bloat!!! what do i do? i have been giving him simethicone every hour for the past couple of hour sand no change. He seems to be in a lot of pain a nd is not moving. The last time he ate was last night around 10:00 he ate some carrot and a little pea baby food. Can i give him asprin or motrin to relieve some of the pain? if so how much? Thank you!

Try holding him in your lap and giving him some tummy massages. You can also try a some warmth - like heating up a sock filled with rice in the microwave. It's also really helpful if he moves around.

Baby aspirin is fine - my vet said up to 3 per day for a medium sized rabbit. Pain relief helps quite a bit with bloat.

Your vet may want to put rabbit on an IV for fluids also.

I would get him to a vet asap.
Simethicone usually works within a short amount of time if it's going to.
Asprin might help with the pain, but might not address the bloat issue.
You want to make sure it isn't a GI infection or blockage.

In the thread that MyBoyHarperposted, there's reference to a "rocking" technique that is supposed to works well, and is recommended by some instead of massage.

Is he eating/drinking/pooping/peeing?
