Ok so i have a light grey flemish giant bred with a NZW so I was wondering what color kit I might get from this cross I know that the little c gives the REW it's color and masks it's genetic one but I have no clue how any of the genes that give NZ the red or any color fur would mix with the genes of the Flemish (side note does anyone know why they call it a light gray when it looks like a chinchilla to me )

Do you have a pedigree on the NZ? Typically, REW does mask their true color but the New Zealand as a breed used to come only in white so they’re more ‘pure’ I guess you could say.

I do not have a pedigree but I thought since nz only in a few colors some one could at least give an educated guess

Actually if you look up history new Zealand reds are original. A man back ago in California had a litter of pure whites born and from that came new Zealand whites

Kits are finally here 5 total the white one I know is most likely an albino but what color y'all think the dark ones are

I would guess chinchilla is what the black ones will be. I’ve found that Agouti colors can be pretty dominant. When i bred my chestnut Agouti buck with my few doe I got four chestnuts.

They are older now and they are the same color as a light gray Flemish giant
