Help!!!! Spay appointment is in the morning

Please help. We have been a bunny owner for 3 weeks. A boy and a girl and we have learned a ton recently and have seen over 100 videos in 3 weeks.

The bunnies have been separated for 2.5 weeks. We were told by the owners the bunnies were 2 months old but the Vet told us they were at least 4 months and to seperate them immediately until they were spayed and neutered.

Here is the problem. The boy was neutered today and he is doing well. The girl spay appointment is tomorrow morning. When we were getting ready to feed her the dinner meal, we saw her pulling her fur and alot of it in her mouth. She is keeping the fur safe. She is also not using her litter box all of a sudden. Poo is everywhere.

It is 6pm and I dont know what to do!!!!

I'm giving her more food (hay/lettuce) and water.

Can she be pregnant? We want to make her comfortable and we just cant take care of 8 or 9 additional bunnies.

What can we do to make her comfortable and what should I do tomorrow morning?

Please help!!!

There is nothing wrong with getting her spayed tomorrow morning regardless.

When I took my bunny to get spayed the had me mark a few things on paper like the pain medication and so on and one of them was if she’s is pregnant do you want to stop the spay something like that, I said yes even though I knew she wasn’t pregnant but if you mark “yes” they do an ultrasound. At least that’s what they did for me and the ultrasound cost $79 for me.
Maybe you should speak to your vet ?

It sound like your bun is pregnant. Bunnies stay pregnant for about a month. They pull their fur within a few days of delivery. If she is pregnant take any sharp of high things out of her cage. make a comfortable bed out of blankets and make sure she has plenty of food and water. If you have a dish of water i would advise using one on the rodent waters ( the ones they lick that you hang from the cage). If this bunnies doesn't know you too well be careful if you go to touch her babies (if she has them). She will be highly protective. Also if she is pregnant try to feed her lots of alpha to help so she won't eat any of her kits.

They are lion haired mixed. No clue what they are mixed with. I was told lion haired but the hair on their torso does not have the same hair as the face.

If they have wool on their torso they could be Lionhead/Jersey Wooly mix.

Welcome! I would also love to see pictures! How did the spay appointment go? We took one of our cats to get spayed and we thought she was pregnant but we didn't know for sure and the vet killed the kittens. We were devastated! They, the vet, said that they thought we knew she was pregnant. I hope the rabbit appointment went better than our cats!

Oh! That so awful! Also you were worried about what to do with the kits if your bun is pregnant. Dont worry! My hamsters had 11. Just ask friend and family to see if anyone (someone you trust) would like to care for a bunny. Who can resist a baby bun?

On a single maned lionhead they won't have the fur on the torso, only the double maned lionheads do.

I am also not seeing them shed much at all. Are we not combing hard enough or do they not shed so often?

Rabbits really only shed a lot during a molt. Which they do 2x a year. This is where they shed their whole coat. Usually, at the beginning of winter and they will shed their summer coat and grow a much thicker and warmer coat. And in the spring as it gets warmer they will shed their warmer coats and grow a thinner cooler coat. But as indoor rabbits, the change may not be as drastic as temps in the house don't change as much. But rabbits will shed a little throughout the year just not a whole lot like during the molts which is what you are seeing now as it's not time for a molt yet.
