Help! Rabbit not eating (seems to have gas)

Buttercup is over two years old and he hasn’t been eating for the past few hours. He refuses everything we give him, even pellets and banana (his favourites). We tried feeding him Ovol drops but nothing is working. He’s laying around and stretching a lot. Sometimes he runs around for a bit and seems really uncomfortable. What should we do? How do we get him to eat/drink?

I will try 3 doses of baby gas drops(simethicone), an hour apart, and if after the third dose they aren't starting to eat and act more normally, if it's been more than 12-24 hours since the rabbit last ate, or if the rabbit has a bloated stomach or true diarrhea(fecal not just mushy cecals), then I will get them to the vet right away, as it then becomes an emergency situation.

In addition to the simethicone, try massage as well:



I had a bun who was regularly gassy for several weeks until I sorted her diet out. She hated the gas drops and would get very stressed, so the belly rubs would sometimes do the trick instead.

Need to be patient with it though, it takes a little while.

Take him to the rabbit vet. They need to check for blockage, give pain relief and fluids and, if no blockage, gut stimulants, and ideally figure out the cause. A bunny refusing food is an emergency.
