At the vet now. His ears show no sign of infection, heart and lungs sound great. He's getting some medication to help the dizziness and an injection before we go. Vet says his head turning looks very mild. His right eye responded to light, his left didn't. His head turning and spinning was all to the left so the vet said that's pretty normal.

He was making larger circles while hopping, he was able to go left and right and straight which the doctor said was good

I don't know if you found a vet that sounded good to you. If Pasadena isn't too far for you, this vet sounded like she might be pretty good. It's hard to know for sure though.

Great to hear! Any improvement is good.

I took him to the animal medical center of corona. I have taken all my animals here and when my last bunny was sick with GI, Dr. Bart was wonderful. He's very good

I called the woman who I got charlie from to see if she had a good rabbit vet... she told me to not bother because he probably wouldn't make it..
Wtf is wrong with you lady?

WHAT?????? You have got to be kidding.. What in the hell is going on with this woman. I used to live in Southern california, the Valley/Studio City but I didn't have rabbits then so i don't know any good vets, but it looks like you found someone good to take him to.

What is going on with that woman??????? Is she on drugs? Man, I knew people in California could be flaky but my goodness... what in the world.. don't listen to talk like that... that is just toxic.

Sheesh!! Definitely don't listen to her. Rabbits recover from ear infections/EC all of the time. Depending on the severity, some cases can be more difficult, and it is true that some rabbits may not survive, but many do if given the right treatment.

Let us know how things go at the vets. Hoping all the best for your little bun.

Yes, the Rabbit Rescue in Poland that has been posting on this board has I don't know how many rabbits with ear infection/ EC that are still alive and kicking. Look at Carrot they have been keeping up posted with...

Sending positive thoughts...

Right? I could never do something like that. My animals come first

Thank you so much. I stood home from work today and will be keeping a close eye on him. He's not happy about having to take medication, he fights hard :/
Im hoping tonight will be easier

What meds did the vet end up putting your bun on? Did he think it was an ear infection?

He gave him a steroid injection for inflammation, I got the metacam and he said to continue with the baytril. I'm also giving him 0.5cc of children's Benadryl to help with the dizziness. He didn't believe it to be an ear infection, he said like people sometimes they get vertigo, no reason why. If he doesn't seem better or begins to get worse by Wed, I'm to bring him back in

How is he doing now? Rooting for you Charlie!

Better! His eyes are still shaking but much slower and sometimes stop. His balance is better, still off but better.
He never lost his appetite so that's awesome.
And thankfully, I didn't even have to syringe feed him his meds, he licked them all up off a cap

Well that's a good sign! :bouquet:At least he's interested in playing or doing something.

Time to get worried is when they sit and do nothing in their cages...

Keep us posted!

Vanessa

He remained so active. He ran around my living room, rearranged his house and I even got one binky last night. When he does nap, he naps hard. Flat on his side, all stretched out

That's awesome! I'd have a hard time not telling that lady a piece of my mind but thankful you didn't listen to her nonsense!

Praying for your little one....how scary! Sounds like you're taking great care of him. :)

Good news everyone!
Charlie is doing wonderful today! His eyes are no longer shaking and he has seemed to have regained his balance. He never once stopped eating so that is good. I'm still going to keep a close eye on him and continue his meds. He gave us a good scare. Also, today Charlie is officially 2months old!
