Hi!

I posted here a few months ago after my rabbit had a litter, for help with gendering and the replies I received were very helpful!

I decided to keep one of the bunnies, and now he is now just over 4 months old — however I’ve been keeping an eye on him and his testicles do not appear to have descended yet, so I’m thinking that maybe he’s female?

I will attach pictures — I can try to get more later as I know the pictures aren’t the best but he hates it! Added some pics of him posing too!
Thanks!

With the vent spread if it's a triangle shape a female, if it looks like a straw, a male. According to google, males have no nipples--females will have nipples, 4 to 5 sets, but may be under developed and hard to find on one that hasn't been bred.

I have attached two short videos that might give a better view. I am booked into vet for Monday so will hopefully know for sure then!

I've used this phrase as reference: Taco or donut.

The DVM visited our crew for 1st RHVD2 vax's. We weren't sure when our young boy's testicles were not obvious at 3 months. ***** or donut gental area indicated male. // Vet mentioned that boys can withdraw their testicles into their abdomen. @SableSteel, @Nancy McClelland is this accurate based on experiences you had/have?

Our DVM carefully felt and verified his boy anatomy was all there.

He visited the vet today and it’s confirmed that he’s a boy! His appointment was for neutering but they said he’s too small at the minute and to give it another while — he’s just over 4 months old but still very tiny. It seems like he hasn’t grown in months!

Yes, thats what I was taught too, by a long time breeder. Taco for girls, doughnuts for boys. I taught that phrase to my vet ;)
The one time that the taco/doughnut thing doesn't work as well is when it is a male with a split *****, as that can look more like a taco. And rabbits can most definitely withdraw their testicles into their abdomen. In show rabbits, they need to have both testicles descended to show, and I've been more time at shows than I'd like to admit trying to calm down the bucks so that I can check and be sure both are there as part of the judging (they can retract them when stressed)
