What a wonderful bunny board!! I have always loved rabbits. :)

I had several as a kid, although they were usually kept outside and not given much attention. I've had three rabbits as an adult, but I had to give one to the House Rabbit Society as my uncle couldn't be around rabbits due to a terminal illness. (I had lived with him and my aunt at the time, and they didn't really understand or care for rabbits.) My husband and I had another rabbit for a while, but unfortunately, we didn't have the resources then to really give him the care he needed. Sadly, he died several years ago.

However, we have a new bunny now, whom I absolutely adore!!! Her name is Grace, she is 2.5 years old, and she's been spayed. I was told that she was litter trained, although so far, she has proven to be quite messy! Not only has she dumped her food dish over several times, but somehow she managed to unhook her litter pan from the pen!! (I have NO earthly idea how she managed this.. Ha!)

But I'm going to read through the forums here to get some ideas. I had gotten her off Craigslist, and she was listed in the ad as an English Angora. But I'm pretty convinced that she's a Lion Head.

I also have three cats, but while they were a little jealous at first, they seem to have gotten used to having her around. She had come with a standard pet store cage, but I set up an x-pen instead so she would have more space to run around. Except for the messiness, this has worked. But even so, I decided to indulge in an amazing guinea pig cage from the internet. I don't know if anyone else has one, but it's really cool and you can order some really fun accessories to go with it. I can't wait to get it all set up!! This bunny is gonna be spoiled rotten! Lol!!

I'll post pictures very soon! :)

She looks adorable! I think you're right, coz angoras have longer ears right by that age right? I'm not soo good with breeds, its kinda my new goal to get better lol. Maybe try giving her a bigger heavier tray? I got my mini lop a large tupperware lol he likes it and it keeps my room clean since he has to hop out of there and can't scatter litter everywhere.

Also try getting a heavier food dish, like a ceramic bowl. She's a pretty small bunny so with some added weight on the things you don't want her to flip upside down should do the trick.

Best of luck!

Yes, she has a ceramic dish already. but she probably needs a bigger one. And her litter pan has a plastic hook that's supposed to attach to the pen. But it's rather cheap, so I may look for a metal one instead. I just can't seem to find any small enough yet.

Here's another picture of her!

Hmm..still trying to figure out my way around here. I'm not sure why the picture is so small. Sorry if it's hard to see!

Here's another one:

And this one. (I know the harness is a bit too small. I haven't gotten the chance to get her a bigger one yet.)

Omg she's too cute! Ahh! Lol your photos have officially made my day better

You may train a bunny to do tricks, but a bunny teaches you patience and the fragile beauty of silence.

Ha ha! Thanks! I love to dress her up! I can't help it...not with this adorable little ball of fluff! ;-)

By the way, if anyone thinks she might actually be an angora, or some other breed, I'm totally open to your opinions! She's really fluffy around the face, and not as much on her body, although I have had to trim away some of the fur on her face as it's gotten a little bit matted. That's why I was thinking she's a lion head, but I could be wrong. I haven't had a long-haired bunny before, so this is kind of new for me. :sofa:

Hello there :) From your image she does look a bit like a lion head with the fluffy mane but shorter body fur. On an angora it should all be long as far as I'm aware. The fact that she's pooping everywhere at the moment may just have to do with her settling in, if you haven't had her very long it's likely she's still scent marking her territory, it should hopefully ease up with time, otherwise you may need to restrict her space a little until she gets the hang of going in one spot.

I have a large bunny so I use a large cat litter box for him. What I did to attach it to the side of his cage so he can not move it is to drill holes up high in the side of his litter box. I drilled two towards the front of his litter box (but on the side) and two holes towards the back of the litter box (again on the side). I then looped a zip tie through the front holes and a zip tie through the back holes. I then clipped a shower curtain hook through each zip tie and that I clip also to the side of the cage. He has not been able to move his litter box since. It only takes a moment to unhook his litter box or hook it back up.
