I have one of the ones that goes on the side of the cage, but Foo doesn't really like it and doesn't really eat out of it. So I put hay on her litter box grate and she eats it from there.
I just put a clean kitten sized litter box full of hay in her cage hoping that she'll eat more hay out of it.

I was wondering what everyone else used as hay managers, what do your buns like?

I have a little container from the dollar store ziptied to the outside of their condo for grass hays and for alfalfa, I put it in the litter box in their pen... I have a piece of coroplast cut out with bolts sticking up through it that I've ziptied to the grid so they can't stand in the hay section:

After much personal debate, I tried putting hay in the litter box. I had heard others recommend this but couldn't bring myself to do it. (This was about 5 years ago).

Since I started, I find it so easy and surprisingly neat. I refresh it 2 or 3 times per day (I just put new on top). They eat lots of hay and since I buy it by the bale, I don't worry about waste.

I'm using one of these hung vertically right now. Monty likes to drag large amounts of hay out of it into her litter, but it just sits in the front of her box until she runs out of hay in the bag holder and eats the spilled pile. It would probably work in the horizontal position as well for smaller buns.

Being forgetful today...here's the link to what I'm talking about: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80010222/

I always put their hay in their litter box. This doesn't mean it is any neater, though. Every time I put new in it drags on the floor, but that's a given, I guess... I'd like to get one of those wooden hay mangers from binky bunny, but they're out.

We simple took a gallon jug and cut it in half. We fill it every day or so. He'll pull the long pieces out and leave the short ones. Every once in a while he'll toss it a dump the hay but not too often.

I just got one of these http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000DBMMO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 to use as a hay rack. So far so good. It does not make a mess. My rabbits are able to get hay out really easily. It also holds a TON of hay. The way that it is attached it with 2 zip ties on the bottom and a dog leash clip at the top. I do not have it over the litter box though. My rabbits refer to eat hay while on their shelf rather while they are in their litter boxes.
