Has anyone heard their rabbits squeak? Just thought I'd share!

Hey all! Just wanted to share that sometimes Remy will make a soft squeaking sound before binkying, but he mostly does it before zoomies. He'll run, pause, thump, then squeak and run super fast around the room. Does anyone else have a rabbit who does this? I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with everyone! Would someone be able to explain it? Or is he just vocal when excited? Thanks!

Oreo does the same without thumping though. I have no clue why she does it! At least it's not just Oreo!

My previous bunny Lilja would always do a grunting or a squeaking sound when she saw me and tried to jump up into my arms

Some bunnies are more vocal than other bunnies.

Oh, that's cool! I couldn't find any sites about bunnies squeaking so I'm glad to know Remy isn't the only one!

 

[Apollo’s Slave]

Apollo makes an interesting noise when he thumps. It’s like a growl-grunt thing. Not the traditional squeak so I’m not sure what kind of noise it actually is. He makes it often, probably at least once a day. Sometimes, he will do it when he’s scared or annoyed.

Musti used to grunt at me too when i came to him or when he came to lay beside me. He would also always grunt even when flopping on his side and sleeping.
When he was still healthy he would run, stop, grunt, stare at me and run on. He would sometimes dig, stop and then grunt before laying down in the hole he'd dug. Too bad i'll never get to see that again...

Trixie likes to "honk/oink" when she's happy or excited. She mainly does it when I go to her treat box and then there's times where she flop over and start honking. It's the cutest thing ever. Some rabbits are more vocal than others.

Aww, thank you all for chiming in! I think Remy may be a more vocal rabbit like Trixie! Apollo's little grunt sounds cute, as well as Musti's! Trixie's sounds like what Remy does!

Here's a video that I caught one time! You may have to turn up the volume to hear it. Every time I pull my phone out to start recording, she stops so I was trying to be in stealth mode when I recorded her.

I also caught a bit when Musti once did the soind but i can't add it here, sadly.
It says that the uploaded file doesn't have the extension it needs. Anyone know how to fix it?

Actually, it sounds kinda like Trixie but slower and lower and with a bit more spacing.

Lol, Remy doesn't quite sound like that, but I'll try to get a video of him doing it. Trixie is so cute and cuddly by the way!

Isn't that always the case!! I find it difficult to catch any great moments because they seem to know when they are being recorded!

YES! I can't tell you how many times I've tried to catch her flopping or binkying and she stops.

Haha so true Musti always caught on when i wanted to get a pic of his funny pose or those snorty grunty sounds. The funniest pic that i've caught of him in the short year of his existence was when he cleaned himself absolutely like a cat! It was november 6th if anybody is wondering

And I am wondering how to fix the problem that i mentioned before?

Remy makes a little squeaker noise before he thumps. Also if we pick him up to suddenly, he gives a little grunt. I think it’s the cutest thing.

I have only heard Lucy make a noise once. She did it before a yawn I believe. It was unexpected.

Catching a rabbit in mid yawn is hilarious. It looks like they are growling and mean with those teeth!
Try googling images of "rabbit yawning" and you'll see what I mean. (I've never been able to catch mine in a yawn.)
