how to groom better, especially when molting?
our frosty Holland Lop is molting for the first time. He’ll be a year old in a few days. We have the Hair buster comb & he gets daily grooming on all visible areas of fur when he’s just sitting there. We’ve not groomed his belly nor his other areas that are hard to reach. He is not a fan of being picked up. He does self grooming & I see his bunny friend regularly do his ‘groom a friend’ activities.
I’m concerned that the Lop will start getting matted fur on his belly area. Any advice on how to handle this? Any concerns I should have if he’s never had his belly fur (& other hard to reach areas) groomed by me?

Rabbits really are great at grooming themselves. Having a little extra help from us during molting just helps to prevent them from ingesting too much fur. Of course having plenty of hay helps prevent any issues from ingesting too much fur too. There really is no reason for a rabbit to develop mats unless, perhaps, he's a long-haired breed and/or sits in filth.

You're doing great if you groom him every day. Don't worry about doing the belly, if you do the back and sides that's fine.
