I used to have baths while on my period. I wear tampons so it's not disgusting or anything, but it just helped relax all the muscles all over my body.

:yeahthat:

That's the same with me. But I usually relax most of the day when I'm on mine. Only if it's a weekend, because I have school. Baths are very soothing too.

But what really helps for me is Midol(sp?) and it's a painkiller for menstural cramps. It works really well. And a heating pad or a hot waterbottle too.

Yes, like some other people have said: If you are getting really bad crampsevery month, talking to your doctor might be a good thing.

Well, I hope you start feeling better soon! :hug2:

Yeah, I talked to my doctor because I simply can't stand it and she put me on the pill but my Psyciatrist made me get off because their filled with fake hormones and mess you up.

I'm still in bed, it's almost 1. I can't stand the pain. I have very low pain tolerance.

If you can't take the pill there are other medications your doctor can give for menstural cramps. Midol is an over the counter version.

I don't get cramps but I get strong severe pain in where I think my ovaries are, and I don't know why. I don't get cramps in the uterus part at all, never had. I only did when I had a miscarriage this year so I know I don't "cramp". I just get these two areas of pain around 6 or so inches apart, sometimes just one side. My left side has been hurting now for a week!

Oh the joys of being female :grumpy:.

I'm getting my period too in a few days I expect so funny we all seem linked up :p.

Mine are really irregular though, this is my first one in 5 months, but on the months I do get it, it's between the 23rd-31st. I'm happy I don't get it every month though, I had a nice 5 month break :p

The only thing im allowed to take is midol and advil. (tylenol). Everything messes with you're emotions and hormones and i'm supposed to stay away from that,

You guy's take bath's during the visit ?

I was thinking the same lol.

I hate it, but it gives me an excuse to sit in bed all day and eat chocolate, and I also hate taking painkillers so usually use the rice filled sock thing (only use it for 20 mins every half an hour though so you dont get used to it)

Haha, I think it's funny that right after I posted on here I started feeling all crampy and I went in thebathroom and Aunt Flow has arrived! Grrr...:grumpy:But I knew it was bound to happen soon.

And yeah, Midol is one of the only pain-killers I use for cramps..

Wow guess I'm really lucky that this has never been a problem for me. I sometimes get a little crampy just before, but for the most part I'm always fine. :)

I take bath showers - Actually just did - where you sit down in the shower like a bath. It's really hard to wash you're hair unless you have a removable showerhead. I actually take all my showers like that..

I hate taking bath's but I want to relax so that helps :)

Have you talked to a doctor about that? I had something similar going on a few years ago, turned out I had a cyst on one ovary. It was no big deal, the doctor just put me on the Pill for a few weeks to get rid of it, but it sure was uncomfortable until it was gone.

I'm hurting so bad right now :(

I just took two Midol, but I think all of the standing, sitting, leaning, moving furniture...has put a strain on my uterine muscles. They are protesting!!!!!!!!! I just want to curl into a ball, but I'm not done cleaning. :(

I have baths too. Its definitely the best way! And if you have a tampon in it doesn't matter. I'm not very heavy anyway so I don't care too much. My period always stops at night anyway so if I have a bath in the evening it doesn't really matter.

No way..... really??!!! You guys are SO lucky!!

I can entirely sympathise with this thread. I used to get them SO bad, I would literally be on the floor crying with pain. It wasn't a dull ache either, it was a horrible twisting stabbing pain :?Every month for a week I was a complete write-off- it was worst in my first year of uni and was really interfering with my lectures etc. I went to my doctor sooo many times and he just refused to even try and understand, saying it was just 'womans troubles' and I was overreacting :X I eventually saw a lovely female doctor who sent me for scans etc with a gynaecologist who was brilliant. I had tried about 10 different kinds of pill with no difference. Eventually I had the Mirena Coil fitted, and a hysteroscopy done at the same time, which thankfully came back clear. Then my periods stopped! Completely and utterly, and I didn't have another one. BLISS! That was in 2003.

I had it removed in September (same time as I got diagnosed with Glandular Fever lol- what a day! :?) and have been on the pill ever since. So I'm just getting used to having the monthly visits again after 5 years! :( It sucks!! The pain hasn't been terrible like before, and I'm losing weight still (I put on at least 3 stone in that 5 years), but it's still not pleasant. I found last week taking codeine and paracetomol helped a lot, plus a hot water bottle...
