Those 'time of the month' cramps? I'm in so much pain I can barely walk! I'm just sitting her on this pigging out on chocolate and taytos. My friend says I look anorexic so hopefully I won't run my figure lol. Anyone have any tips for cramps, I'm out of painkillers! :(

Lucky for me I haven't 'started' yet so I don't have any tips but hope it eases off soon

I used to have period pain 24/7 with no break even when I didn't have my period because I have endometriosis, and yes, I did hate it. I don't have a period now though because I'm on the contraceptive injection and it works great!

Tips for pain would be mild exercise, pain meds such an ibuprofen, and the week before cut out all sugary food, heat can help, so a hot water bottle, bath, etc.

If it is really bad every time you can go to the docs and they can either give you stronger painkillers (I had something called Mefenamic Acid), or they can try you on a Pill of some sort to try and regulate them which will hopefully ease them.

Thank you, I'll try some of that stuff!

I don't usually get period pains too bad, nothing worse than an achy feelings... but when I do get it bad, I get its really really really really bad! I remember pacing up and down the corridors in school because I was in so much pain I couldn't breathe.

What I do when I'm feeling really bad is get a heat pack. If you want to go out you can get one of those 'back' cureheat packs, they tie round your waist and warm your back, but turn them round the other way and they work a treat! I also dose up on Ibuprofen and eat copious amounts of chocolate, watch Dirty Dancing and cry. Always helps.

Becca you are lucky :)

I rooted out a packet of Neurofeon and took two, feel sooo much better, such a relief, the only thing is they make my whole body go all droopy and my head and shoulders feel really heavy. Been bored all day, didn't get to go to the cinema or anything and I could hardly walk because it was so painful, so been sitting here all day :(sucks....

If you get it really bad every monthI would consider taking to your doc about going on the Pill. One of my friends used to have cripplingly bad period pains, however she is on the Pill nowand says it has worked wonders!:)

I do sympathise with you. I used to get really bad pains, however thankfullythey seem to have eased off with time! In the short term; painkillers and a hot water bottle!:D

Ugh I hate it! And I think it's only getting worse :(. Last time I had it I almost did not go to school but since it was a short day (2 hours) because of testing for sophomores I went. And for like 45 minutes I suffered in pain and almost cried. It was awful. It finally ended when the ibuprofen kicked in. Thankfully after that I had barley any pain at all!

:grumpy:i'm cramping too...................:X

try a hot tub soak or a hot water bottle/heating pad(and loads of chocolate!!!!!!).

:grouphughugs for us:group:

:tongue

i hope we feel better soon:?!

I always take Tylenol, that usually helps me. Of course, it doesn't help the vicious mood swings... *sigh* DH can always tell when I'm getting ready to start, because I am either crying or yelling at someone! I have heard from a couple of different women that getting your tubes tied makescramps, etc.five times worse, so I'm really glad that I didn't get that done.

Oh my gosh, I read this.. then get a cramp.. wait a few minutes..go to the washroom and GUESS WHO DECIDED TO VISIT.

:X

I'm not clicking on any threads anymore.

Oh, I just ate...8 oranges and I feel nothing ( Tylenol also helped but idk..)

I hate taking pills (including ones to relieve pain), so I always wait until I cant take the cramps anymore, then I pop an Advil. Heat pads seem to work really well. My 'aunt flow' just got done visiting, I'm so happy it's over! I just wish it was gone for good...:grumpy:

Lots of heat...moist heat in a bath tub, then heat a rice-filled (clean ;)) gym sock in th microwave for 2 minutes. Place it on the tummy or back as needed. Also, I lay on the sofa or bed with my feet propped up on 2 stacked pillows. It really helps for the back and leg cramps (which I get, down to the knees, because of a tipped utereus. Being a girl is SO fun...)

I used to have the WORST cramps. I wouldn't be able to move and nothing helped. I'd just lay on the couch in the fetal position for a couple days untill it was over. They were so bad I had to go to the doctor and he put me on the pill. Man, what a difference. My cramps are 90% better and the little bit I do get now is controlled with Midol and a heating pad.

If yours are super bad too you might want to talk to your doctor about it. If you dont' want to go to the Pill there are other medications to stop the cramping they can give you.

Definately try a couple Midols, they work better then plain tylenol or advil.

The only thing that works for me is exercise :grumpy: why can't I just pop a pill and get a heat pad like everyone else lol.
