i have a 9 week old netherland dwarf i got herwhen she was 8 weeks old, when i go to school i sometimes wonder ifshes lonely or something so i was thinking i should get her afried.

Name- Bun Buns
Age- 9 weeks
***- female
Sprayed- no

shes playful and rolls around , it was hard enough begging my parents for her so how should i approch(sp?) this? i need tips!

I have two rabbits...but I got them at the same time and they are probably from the same litter.

They got along just fine (though the bigger girl kept on stepping! onthe smaller boy), but because they are not spayed/neutered, weseparated them. Doing just fine, though. Cookie (the boy) doesn't seemtoo happy about it, but Cream (the boy) seems happy to have a space forherself. :D

I heard from someone else that it's good to have only one bunny atfirst so that he/she warms up to you more instead of being occupiedwith some other rabbit. :(So perhaps you should wait for yourgirl to familiate with you more.

My bunnies are not very warm to us...haha....Cream's a bit betterbecause she was never held by us (she's scary...hehe) and neverthreatened in any way....Cookie, on the other hand, was held by a lotof people, was threatened by my dog and once by my neighbor'scat....:shock:poor thing needs company of Cream, I think....

I agree with JadeIcing. You shoulddefinately wait until after your girl is spayed. Baby rabbitsoften make friends quickly, but in a few weeks your little girl willbecome a "teenager," full of hormones that tend to make themterritorial, aggressive, and generally much more naughty.Siblings and previous friends often turn on each other and startfighting, sometimes causing serious injuries requiring vet care.

Also, I'm guessing this is your first rabbit? Take your timeand learn more about your little girl and how to care for her firstbefore you think about getting another one. Rabbits are greatpets but not for everyone, and taking care of two single rabbits can beoverwhelming.

Also, after you do get your girl spayed, look into adopting an adultrabbit that has already been spayed/neutered. I know theToronto shelter is overflowing with rabbits, and you'll probably save alot of money by adopting a spayed/neutered rabbit there than having topay for another surgery at the vet's. Plus adult rabbits area bit more calm and often easier to bond than younger rabbits, andyou'll be saving a life. Rabbits at shelters are usuallythere because their owners didn't feel like taking care of them anymore, frequently because they start misbehaving during their "teenage"time and the owners don't want to pay for spay/neuter.
