can anyone help with my dwarf french lop 5monthsold who has very recently lost most of her ear fur, first on one ear, then the other. Am putting on tea tree skin cream and have even tried bandaging up to try to stop her washing cream off to no avail. started with a very small dry skin area which quickly spread, though it is not sore looking, just bald! Is bonded but other bun has no symptoms.Any ideas gratefully received thanks

Do you have any photos? I've seen rabbits lose the fur on the back of their ears from having the ears laying back in contact with the body. Over-grooming can also be a cause as can mites or fungal infections.

The other rabbit may also be over-grooming her ears.

no photos yet, but her ears are very firmly lopped, so dont think body contact is the problem. have never had this problem in all my bunnying years!! Are there any 'natural' remedies that you know of???

Please don't use tea tree oil. It's poisonous for rabbits. Keep in mind that "natural" remedies can sometimes be just as dangerous, or more so, as traditional medicines.

If you can't get photos up, it would be a good idea to have a vet check her out.

Angela is right ..don't use tea tree oil.

Its possible that your bun has mange or ringworm or the other possibilities mentioned..should be seen by a vet

many thanks to everyone for their help. shall get Babe off to the vets pronto!!!
