Floyd is a 18 month old lop and we've recently introduced Olive, a 10 week old kitten to the house. She's becoming more and more playful and if he doesn't like something that she's doing, or normally where she is doing it, he'll run over and she'll back away.

When they are both on the bed, and Olive is running around, she will "attack" Floyd, bitting around his head, occasionally jumping on his back. But the interesting/ worrying thing is that he will just sit there and not do anything, so she will continue to do it.

Do we need to be worried? Does he know she is just ( hopefully ) playing and so doesn't fight back? I don't want him to become submissive as Olive will grow much larger than him.

He was meant to be a mini lop. There is nothing mini about him.

oh wow, he's precious!! I've got no experience with cats and bunnies, though, so I can't offer any advice :(

Thanks, he is great fun.

I forgot to add that he is a house trained bunny so he is free to go where he pleases, so there are times when the two are left alone. I am concerned she could do it whilst we aren't there to monitor it. But i've only noticed the biting behaviour when they are both on the bed.

I don't have cats either, but I do know that you have to be careful about cat bites and scratches, as they can be deadly to rabbits.

When your cat is playing on the bed with Floyd, if Floyd is breathing fast or his nose is twitching fast, it would mean he's probably nervous about what the kitten is doing. You may want to discourage that kind of play by your kitten, with your rabbit, to avoid any accidents with bites or scratches.

I have a mini lop too, and yes, there is definitely nothing 'mini' about mini lop :)

I would definitely not allow that kind of "play" with the bun. I would break it up when the kitten started to do so. The kitten may just mean to play, but could end up harming bunny.

I know rabbits on this forum have gotten serious eye infections from swats from cats. I would hope that nail caps on the cat would prevent this, but I'm not sure.
