Hmm... Will electrocuted himself today (i think). I was in the living room and so was he, and i forgot to turnoff the lamp at the switch but i had remembered to pull it over the lamp so he couldn't get to it. Well he pulled it down and i didn't realise at all. The when i went to put him away because we were going out i looked down the back of the chest (with the lamp on), which is his favourite place, and i noticed he was lying on his side with his eyes almost completley white. I shouted at my Mum and when i'd turned round he was sitting perfectly normally looking at me like "hey? Whats the fuss?" So we assumed that he had been sleeping or something (not realising he'd chewed the wire at all). We put him away, my mum got him out later while i was out and he was perfectly fine hopping around, sniffing, binkying etc. Then when i got home she picked up the lamp wire to unplug it for the night and got electrocuted! We saw te chew marks, and then put two and two together and realised that he'd obviously been shocked.

So what should i do? He's obviously OK and doesn't seem obviously ill. I gather it is really not good for him but its not like medication is going to help him or anything? We're looking to buy him a big pen to stay in the house with (i've thought about those cubes everyone uses to make homes with? I'll be posting asking about them in a minute!) but i really want to know if there is anything i can do now to relieve his previous shock? Or is he fine and there is nothing i can do?

I'm sorry, I really wish I had a reply for you...I know almost nothing about the subject at all, though.

I just wanted to send my hugs and love for you both, and warm thoughts for your Will.

All else fails, call your vet...I'm sure he/she wouldn't mind you calling...or if you have the ability, take him in just in case to be checked out.

Keep us updated on how he's doing, ok?

Hugs and love,

Rosie*
