Eating and drinking but not pooping or peeing (much) after spay??

1.4 year old bun had spay surgery yesterday. Everything went great and she started eating lots of greens and hay, and drinking plenty of water, by 12 hours post-op. She had a good poo overnight, a small pee this morning, and since then, not much. Still eating and drinking like crazy, though. Vet says it sounds normal. Should I be worried? I feel like I should be seeing more coming out, considering all that's going in. Thanks!

The day of surgery can cause a GI slow down from reduced consumption and pain meds. But should get back to normal in a day or two, as long as bun gets back to eating and drinking pretty normally. But if you aren't seeing an improvement by morning, or your buns appetite begins to go down, then I would suggest contacting your vet.

Thanks, guys! Everything is looking back to normal this morning. I adore my vet - she's fantastic -- but it's nice as a new bun mom to hear confirmation from folks here. Cheers!
