Hi All,

I was able to identify a few trees near our home as Populus Deltoides and our cities Arbortorium was able to confirm the tree's age (all planted 22 years ago) and that it has never been treated or sprayed and is healthy.

Now my question is, can I give this to my bunnies to nibble on as a fresh branch or only once it has been dried?

Can they eat all parts? Leaves, twigs, bark, flowers, fruit (not actual fruit) etc? What about the fluff?
We have both female and male species of trees, I imagine this doesn't matter much? Just the fruit looks different on the female tree it's bright green and longer strands, the male tree is small and brown/red strands.

Thanks in advance!

I know poplar is. I would think all the populus trees to be considered safe. I don't know the exact kind it is, but I feed my rabbits cottonwood leaves. Usually dried, but fresh is fine as well. I would imagine branches are fine but I haven't ever tried to feed them and don't know how well rabbits would like them. I doubt they would care much for the fluff to be sticking inside of their mouths though.

Thanks! I'm not planning on giving them the fluff, but if there is some that I missed I just wanted to make sure it's safe. I check with our exotic vet who also has several pet bunnies and she said the branches and everything on them is fine, fresh or dried. :)
