This is more of a reply to virginia's post. I amsorry to hear that your rotty killed little chloe. I don'tthink she has intended to do so. I had a rotty pup who usedto love to run around the garden chasing my rabbit. He usedto pin bunny down and lick him like an ice pop! We never really noticedthe dog getting bigger until one day he pinned bunny down and bunnyscreamed. Luckily the rabbit was ok, my point is that it was the weightof the dog that was the problem, he never meant to hurt the rabbit,they had always been best of friends. I think it was probablythe same with chloe, as you will know, rotties think they are puppiesfor ever and just love to play. My rottie isn't allowed to play withany of the rabbits now but he does still poke his head in to thehutches when I'm feeding them, one of the rabbitslicks thedogs nose, the other likes to box with him.(believeit or not it is the one he pinned down that licks his nose)
Dog'swill live quite happily with rabbits, but I do thinkthat it's best that they are never left unsupervised. From myexperience the only thing I would say is that while you are trying toget them used to each other, don't pet one in front of theother,the rabbit and the dog can both getveryjealous, once they are used to each other it's not aproblem.
