My buns LOVE to have a bath. Verystrange. They also love what comes after the bath -BRUSHA-BRUSHA. Silly wabbits :p

Personally I'd love to get my rabbit accustomedto having a bath, but I read on here somewhere that it's not too goodto give them baths unless they really need it (like a poopy butt orsomething). What worries me is if Fergy ever does get to where heneeds a bath, I wonder how he'll take it :p

Apparently buns can bebathed! But most buns doesn't like water, or so it seems! ^_^ Anywayspeaking of funny story, my Riku once jumped into my fish pond when Iwasn't looking! But she jumped right out and when I turned around, Isaw her drench and shaking the water off from her fur! It was prettyfunny. I know she hates water...I just don't know why she jumped intothe pond in the first place. Thankfully, my fish pond is reallyshallow...:D

Most people dont reccomend bathing rabbits for the following reasons...

They havesensitive skin and are very succeptible to dryness and irritation.

The bunny must be fully driedafter bathing, especially areas of folded skin

Blow dryers can dry and irritate the skin

The bunnys skin ph requires a special bunny formulated shampoo

A rabbit who is nerous can kick out during the bath and possibly break his back

A rabbit who is nervous may actually panic so seriously as to cause a heart attack

Rabbits dont technically need a bath because they clean themselves

Rabbits ( by nature) in most cases dont like water

I do bath my bunnies ' ocassionally" but only becauseI haveallergies andI need to get rid of excess hair and dander. Forme its a better choice than giving them up. I very rarely use the bunnyshampoo, usually just water. Ive bathed them since i got them so theyhave no fears of the bath,,, its normal for them and they sit nicelyand enjoy the massage lol

coincidences abound! yesterday mr licks decidedto see what was going on while i was in the shower! scared me todeath.. i think he was just trying to get up on his perch on the sideof the tub where we usually keep the rug, but i had it on the floor..and in he came! had to boost him out with the shower curtain.. only hisbunny butt got wet lol... he sulked for a little while.. he even let mecomfort/pet him lol..poor guy :)

I understand that buns are ratherclean. But I will have these buns their whole lives and Iwant them to be accustomed to baths. So, I figured that if Istart early, it will be something they expect. I lay down ashower/bath mat in the bathtub (so they don't slip &slide). Using about an inch of lukewarm water (or two inchesdepending on the size of your bun). I use a cup to pour waterover their backs. I use my hand to scoop water up to theirbellys. (Don't get the ears, face, or nose wet.)Just wash from the neck down. I found 'critter shampoo' forbunnies which is really gentle and tear-free. Lather them upand rinse. I (kinda) try to wring them out-GEEZ!That sounds terrible!! I just firmly run my hand along theirbacks & bellies to get more water out of theircoat. I make my bunny burrito and sit with them andgently comb their fur. (Which they LOVE). A friendof mine gave me one of those pet dryers (which are really expensive - Igot lucky) I dry them while they are sitting on my groomingtable. I give them a slice of banana afterwards and they arethe happiest bunnies ever! Then my bunnies are allclean...just to get really messy the next day digging in the yard :?

About rabbits getting nervous, and they could jump and hurtthemselves...I would suggest bathing them in a bathtub instead of akitchen sink. (Less distance to jump)
