Do home remedy ear mite treatments work?

Has anyone had any success with home remedy ear mite treatments? I see alot of them online and was just wondering if they work well? If they do, I'd like to go that route. If not, I will keep his appointment with the vet and go with the revolution.

I once treated my buck with baby oil mixed with flower of sulphur, a few drops into the ears the first days, then every other day for 2 weeks, if I remember correctly. Worked like a charm.

Oh wow! I'm definitely willing to try! Do you know where would I find flour of sulphur?
