Do does gain weight even though they’ve barely been pregnant?

One of my does is two days pregnant and she’s gained weight. I obviously know that this wouldn’t be due to kits if she was pregnant. But I’m wondering this because is this what does do to get ready for their pregnancy? Or am I just imagining that she gained weight, which very well could be. I haven’t bred a rabbit in years!

I doubt there can be much change in 2 days, apart from weighting before and after a munching session.

I usually weigh before breeding, halfway through pregnancy, and the day before her due date. This way, you have an accurate way to determine if she's pregnant.

Depending on the breed, she should gain a few ounces throughout her pregnancy...

Thank you. She is 3 days pregnant now, and she is a mini lop, so I wasn’t really sure if that was just me imagining things lol.
