Yes, I did. There are more, see http://www.bpmlegal.com/ireland/clare.htm

I think I walked past the Abbey on the way to dinner - we stayed at a B&B on the east of town, and ate at the hotel on the left of the street picture of Ennis (the door with the two lamps), and I'm pretty sure our path took us right by the Abbey.
Don't suppose you went to Limerick.

Afraid not - in '07 I took the Tarbert ferry and bypassed Limerick on the west. In '08 I was nearer, passing by on the N20 and then north to Tuamgraney and then to Ennis. So, I've been past Limerick, but never to Limerick. Someday...

Not yet, but someday! I have Scouting acquaintances in Northern Ireland (Belfast and Antrim) I'd like to see some time.

On the last two trips I went clockwise from Dublin around the south coast and up the west coast, but the next time I come to Ireland I'd like to start where I left off and continue clockwise up the west coast and north coasts and down the east coast, so Derry is is definitely in the cards for my next trip.
