Cupid was brought to me at the end of spring this year, sometime around the last week of april just before my birthday, she was ( along with her sister crystal ) we're 2 buns i took in after their previous owners looked into a pet sitting service 2 years ago, they paid for a month and never returened, i posted an add for a sanctuary type thing from my home, self funded , and a wonderful woman contacted me and asked if i had room on my property for a 6 foot hutch and 2 rabbits, after speaking with her she brought both of them an hour from her home to mine, we got them settled in and we bonded cupid with a male ( neutered) male named comet, we than had a huge success with that and within less than a week they were inseperable, nudging and binkying in the run, and grooming each other day and nite. he even let her eat first wich i thought was so cute, cupid was a fast eater and loved to give kiss's on ur nose and if you didnt respond when she came over shed thump and put her front paws on you untill ur responded grunting very smoothly. today i went out to the hutch and grabbed the water bottles i didnt notice anything as i was in a bit of a hurry ( leaving my son in the house alone is not a good idea at 6 yrs old,, he's a monster literally and will destroy the 7 rooms downstairs before i get back on the stair way) i filled the bottles, got his boots and coat on him..put the water bottle on the hutches and noticed that cupid wasnt there..and my heart sunk..she was in the middle of the hutch on her side ( i didnt notice if she was breathing, i ran inside phoned our farm vet told him i had a bun down and get his azz at the farm ( yep just like that, our vets a great person and we've known him for years) hung up and ran back to the hutches..she was gone..she was fine last nite and this morn when i went to check bottles which were fine ( its a bit cold so i constantly go out every hour to check them for freezing) i've not lost a bun in 15 years over anything but old age so this tore me up..i made my hubby help me bury her ( our ground is barely frozen) and the vet was unsure what could have happened..she was always a bit under weight but healthy the same, hated the snow..loved to dig in the dirt, so tonight i'm a bit down and coment is sad..he ran around the hutch for a bit than we brought him inside to give some extra family love. he kissed my nose so i think he really does understand..poor little girl..Rip beloved cupid..we'll miss you
