LOL Good to know the people on here have such patience!! LOL
I would have posted sooner but we shut the computer down so the noiseswouldn't upset Cuddles and it crashed on us this morning when westarted it up again!:?
So here is the update...we don't have any pics yet...we are going to wait till tomorrow to start bugging her!
She is a giant of a bunny...very thin...white with black markingsaround the face and chesnut brown on the rest of her body. Her one eye is very weepy...she was given a clean bill of health but itcould be her molars...she didn't have anything to chew other thanpellets really.
I read all her medical records and the surrender sheet...apparently shewas given up because the person had "major allergies" after 5years...she weighed 6 pounds at surrender and was listed as a "DutchLop" and was re-listed as a Giant Lop by the HS.
She was found to have Uterine Adeno-Carcinoma when they did thespay...they suspect that it has metastisized to her lungs due tolabored breathing...but I have noticed that bunns with big dewlaps dothis as well...and she has a nice size one!
She is very timid right now and looks so sad! She has made afew half hearted attempts to play with her new toys in her cage. (weare homing her in an exercise pen right now) She was in a cage the sizeof the one we use for Daphne...and I consider it a tight squeeze forher! So she is enjoying the extra room.
We are free feeding her to try to get some weight on her, and she isn'tused to veggies so we are introducing her to them too!
Shedef loves her mommas bunny cookies! She munchs them up in notime flat...she is totally addicted to banana chips so we are stayingaway from those and introducing her to other types of yummies that area little better for her!
Basically she is such a gentle doll. I am booking a vetappointment tomorrow to get some normal values listed forher. Her medical records are being mailed but won't be herefor a week probably...so we aren't going to wait for those. We will forward them after they show up. I want our vet tocheck those teeth...if there is a problem then I want it fixed do wecan get some weight on her. She doesn't seem to have problemseating...she just seems very dainty...she nibbles!
Apparently she wasn't bonded but she had been housed in a seperate cagenext to another bunn for a long time. So I am of the opinionthat she is also suffering from the loss of her friend. So weare quarantining her for a week (strictnew bunny rule in thishouse!
) and then we are going to see if she would be interested inanother friend.
We have decided to rename her too. We wanted to give her atotally new beginning! She doesn't answer or respond to herother name so we figured it would be OK. We decided that hernew name will be Princess Sophie.
OK...what the heck...here is
one quick pic!
Only one! No more till she settles in!
