AppleDo you know any other treats i can feed??
Sometimes i do , but she almost never likes them .Have you thought of making your own treats? Its cheaper.
I've never fed citrus fruits to my bun .Fresh fruit makes a good treat. Just keep to the general rule of no more than 1-2 tbsp per day. (Some rabbits can't tolerate that much) Here is a page from my website on treat options.
Go easy on any citrus fruits as they can cause ulcers if given too much.
I find banana makes their poop soft, so I quit that all together. There favourite is apple.Do you have any ideas for other treats????
But they have never made her sick .
I've never tried watermelon !I find banana makes their poop soft, so I quit that all together. There favourite is apple.
I tried melon and they won't eat it.
I'm going to try watermelon next.
Have you tried different types of hay??My male bun refuses to eat hay, not sure why. He is a picky little guy lol
Hay you tried compressed hay cubes that have no molasses or anything else in them. I had a rabbit that refused to eat hay. Later on I discovered why, he had bone spurs on the back of his molars. I had his molars filed down, he still refused hay but loved his hay cubes. My male bun refuses to eat hay, not sure why. He is a picky little guy lol
He ate our hay we grow which is orchard grass...but now being winter, it's not available until the snow goes. I've been buying hay since winter started and there's never anything available other than Timothy hay.We have six buns that are not picky eaters; however, we have bought some hay that they refuse to touch. Right now, we're feeding them baled timothy purchased right out of the field, locally. It doesn't look as pretty as the bagged brand-name stuff; but, the gobble it down with gusto. They love it!
I would suggest trying different kinds of hay.
He had his teeth all fixed up two weeks ago, so it's not his teeth. He's just picky lolHay you tried compressed hay cubes that have no molasses or anything else in them. Good idea. Thanks! If you can find them in your area, go to farm supply stores that cater to people with horses. Sometimes they'll have grass hay. We cut our own orchard grass, too, until last winter arrived. We found a place that supplies hobby farms. They filled the gap until the next haying season and we bought right out of the field, thanks to Craigslist.
