I've tooken good care of my buns for 4 years - yet all these problems start. 2006 is cursed.
I just noticed last night that Cocoa has watery stained fur around hiseyes. And as most of you know Bun-Bun's chalky pee(I know, it's thepellets.) residue and sneezing.
What's going on!? It's driving me nutts and I'm soooooooo confused.
I have tooken care of Bun-Bun the same way over 4 years. He's in anon-dusty, clean. room, at room temparature - how did he catch apossible respatory infection?
How come Cocoa now has watery eyes?
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!??!!!!

Many rabbits already carry the bacteria forrespiratory and eye infections, but their immune system keeps it incontrol. Sometimes a stronger version of that bacteria getstransferred or occurs and that causes an infection, or somethingaffects the immune system (such as stress or another illness) and thatallows the already-present bacteria to start growing faster and causingsymptoms. There's no way to keep a rabbit and his living areasterile.

Even the cleanest, most careful humans get colds, right? Although with rabbits, it's a bacteria not a virus.

As for Cocoa, some rabbits have allergies. Some get cloggedtear ducts which cause their eyes to run. But often runnyeyes are from infections, which can be caused by the same bacteria asrespiratory infections. This also may have been from abacteria he's had since before you got him and something caused it togrow more now, or he could have caught a more potent strain fromBun-Bun. It's hard to tell. Even if your vet findsthe same bacteria to be causing the problem in both of them, it doesn'tmean that Cocoa caught it from Bun-Bun. But these diseasesare transmissable between rabbits.

Thanx!!
The only thing I hink that could be the problem is Ciggarette smoke, although both my Rabbit Savvy and local Vet say that's most likely notthe problem. I don't smoke right in front of their face, even though Ismoke in my room - where they are located.

Any ways, the problem may be as for Cocoa's eyes, may be anallergic reaction to Kale. Last week, I whent on a shoppingspree for Bun-Bun to help compfort his health conditions. Green Veggieswere required to help his chalky pee. Bun-Bun is on aVeggie/Timothy Hay diet till' he can see a vet. He should be fine till'then.
Every time I give Bun-Bun his kale dinner, I'll give Cocoa a littlebit. That could be an allergic reaction. So I don't give it to him anymore.

Anyways, every 6 hours, I flush out Cocoa's eyes out whithwater, then I take a warm wet cloth and pat it on his eyes and clean upthe dried tears or mucus. I'm just trying to releive his eyes and clearout any bateria. I did this when I had a stye(A terriblemucusy eye infection that put's a big lump of bacteria in your upper orlower eye lid.).
