I was making a tribute on my blog to my first rabbit and in telling his story I also mentioned Lucy, his bonded lady.

She was at a vet office and was brought in as a lab animal, treated and was then living there waiting for a home.

I'm thinking Flemish based on her skull shape, but what do you guy think?

Bailey was a standard rex, overweight. Lucy was larger than he.

Studies are almost always done on NZ REW.

Aww poor cuties.. Why is that?
Unfortunately the best is sometimes chosen. NZ REW's are very hardy rabbits, strong and are a bigger rabbit. So labs do use them all the time so that their data comes out at a consistent weight of the bunny.

That's why I don't wear makeup.

Thanks K :)

Lucy actually passed away at the end of 2010, just before Bailey. She was at least 10 pounds, and not overweight like Bails. She was probably closer to 11 or 12 pounds.

My intention with asking you guys what you thought about her breed was because I adored her and wanted to consider obtaining a bun just like her.

They are excellent bunnies. NZ's are just the sweetest bunnies. They are medium size (8-10). I saw your set up and with the Nic system you have, would be perfect for a sweetie like Lucy.

Sorry she passed. My apologies if I stepped over the line.

Thank you for the NIC complement :)

And your condolences. You didn't overstep the line, but I appreciate the thought. Celebrate the memories!
