Sad news, my new friends. The rabbitwe rescued and adopted, Cinnamon, crossed the Rainbow Bridge thismorning at 9 AM. We had just returned from the vet, who hadobserved a problem with his heart rate and was in the process ofcalling the veterinary school at Univ of Florida. As Itransferred him from his carrier to his cage, he took his last breathand passed away. I am so very sad. He was a gentle, friendly rabbit, and we tried to give him all the comfort, car, andlove we could during this past week. He was veryweak. I know his little soul and joined all of our belovedpets across the Rainbow Bridge. Thanks to each of you whoencouraged us (new to rabbits). I hope in our ignorance aboutrabbits, we did not wind up doing more harm than good. Theysure do steal your heart. Once we can catch the other"dumped" rabbit, who was Cinnamon's friend, we will take him for a vetvisit and hope to adopt him/her. Please keep us in yourthoughts and prayers, during our grief for gentle Cinnamon.

I'm so sorry, I hope u manage to catch hisfriend but please do no feel u were ignorant. Ignorant isknowing there is a problem and ignoring it. I pressume thatyou would have asked advice here and then got cinnamon to thevet. That is not ignorance that is dedication and love.

My prayers are with you.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You gave Cinnamon some wonderful last days. You didabsolutely everything you could for the little one. Hopefullyyou can catch is friend. I can't remember how you caughtCinnamon, but have you considered trying a humane trap? Theywork well at catching escapees.

Kathy, I am so sorry about Cinnamon. You did allyou could for him, and at least he knew love in his last few days.Perhaps running free for as long as he did was just too much for him. Ihope you can catch his friend. Thinking of you- Jan
