This morning I decided to go into my vet'searlier than scheduled (was supposed to be Monday) toget oururinalysis done because it was looking worse than days earlier. So Iwent, and since he had no one in the waiting room while I was there, him and I sat down for nearly 25 minutes and had a long discussionabout our treatment options, his knowledge with this, hishonest thoughts about the situation, ect. He was veryopen, honest, and candid. Which I very much appreciated.

First off, the urinalysis results. He has a large amount of sand backin the urine -- last week there was a bit smaller amount of sand butthis week, there's more again. His urine is very bloody again, and he'salso pooping mushy poo with blood in it.

We talked about the urinalysis a bit, then talked about our futureplans. First, he was explaining in the beginning that he knew I didn'thave much money. This was why he never did the in depth testing, because he knew if we found something major, he wasn't equipped totreat it, and I wasn't financially able to get him to a specialist. Nowthat we (my vet and I) are in the midst of getting Chance to LSU, wehave set up an arrangement. On Monday morning, Chance is going in forsome major testing, which I will outline below in just a moment. Theidea is, he wants to see if we can spot anything obvious, let himdiagnose it, and then he will be sent to LSU for treatment.

First, Chance is going to get a full panel set of x-rays, blood work,an anemia test to find out which type of anemia he has, another fecal, and a blood cell... something. Where he looks at the blood cells to seeif he doesn't have a disease in his blood cells (something like sicklecell anemia, but different).

Here's the scary part: Chance will be put under, which scares me, andmy vet. But must be done. And I trust my vet more than I trust anyoneelse, even LSU. Harper has been put under 5 times already, notincluding his neuter, and did wonderfully. We're just concerned becauseof Chance's health, but it has to be done. Still, I'm concerned likeany bunny-parent would be.

Once we do all these tests, he's sending one thing off to a lab andputting a rush on it so we'll get it back Tuesday morning. He wants usto push the LSU date back a day or two so he can get all the testresults. Then, we're off to LSU, pending what he finds, and we'vescheduled to have a ultra-sound of Chance's kidney's done at LSU as myvet isn't equipped to do it. The ultra-sound alone was quoted at $250.:shock:I think my and my vet's face went white when we firstheard this. But, it needs to be done, soit's going to getdone.

My vet is concerned at what is causing all these kidney problems in another-wise healthy rabbit. His kidneys appear to be his only illness. So I heard wordsI dreaded today -- could be cancer, could beleukemia. We'll know when when we get back the results on the fullpanel blood work and blood cell test thingy. Another possibility isactual kidney disease, but once again, we'll know when we get the bloodwork.

I'm praying thathe'll dofine withtheanathesia on Monday, which as I said, I trust my vet. JustChance's health worries me going under like that. But hesaidfor the amount of blood that needs to be drawn, he needs togounder. They did this for Harper once before too.

So, that's pretty much it for now.

EDIT: Because I can't seem tospell correctly today.

I'll be praying for Chance. I really hope theyare able to at least make a more definitive diagnosis so you know whatto expect. Its hard when you just dont know what is wrong.

As for putting him under anesthesia, I had the same worries with Max.We were so scared to put him under because of his weight loss andbreathing problems. But, in the end, I figured I would rather lose himunder anesthesia, knowing I did everything I could for him, than allowhim to deteriorate and suffer. As you know, it all worked out for thebest :D

I'll be keeping you both in my prayers. How is he doing otherwise, eating and such?

Otherwise, he actually appears to be feelingbetter and is eating. He was quite excited to get his early easterbasket, and then decided to spray Thumper (who wasn't amused) and thenhump me endlessly for 10 minutes. :craziness

Forgot to add that the vet is concerned because he drinks a 16oz bottleof water everyday, but only pee's once every 18 hours or so. So thathas us concerned, but he'll be delving into that with the tests onMonday.

And I thought about Max the whole way home. If that poor baby can get through the anesthesia, then anybunny can. :)

Prayers for your boy Chance, I hope they find out a fixable reason for his problems.

Hey! Han't seen you in a couple days (probably just me not payingattention ;)) Chance says thank you bothfor the prayers.
No, I haven't really been on too much. I was really busy atwork yesterday. Also, I had to sub on a league(bowl) Thurs night which I don't usually do and I bowled last nighttoo. Got new tires on my car today and blah, blah:). Been thinking of you guys though!:D

You're very welcome, you need all you can get!

Thanks guys, I am freaking more and more asMonday draws closer. Chance is so attached to me, and he'll have to beat the vet's a few hours. I'm worried about how he'll do without hismommy. :(

I was watching him earlier out in the yard as I was pulling weeds. He'sjust so affectionate, wanting me to hold him and love on him, pawing atme for attention, following me everywhere I go... I couldn't imaginelosing him and that beautiful personality that he has. It would justkill me.

*Sigh* I'm sure he'll be just fine Monday, but I am still just so concerned. (Worrying is what I do best, of course.)

 Praying that Chance pulls through thisalright. He's such a lucky bun to overcome his old life and get awonderful person like you to love and care for him in his time of need(not to mention pay for his costly vet bills). Even if he doesn't pullthrough, I think that, in the short time you've had him, you've madehis life worth living. He's got an angel looking out for him.

Awww, thanks Rosie, that picture was priceless!

Chance seems to still be having one of his good days today, he appears happy this morning. Yay!

Unfortunately, he still has his stinky, spoiled milk poo:

But otherwise still looks and acts fine. Right now he's waiting for his oatmeal -- yay for appetite!

Tomorrow's the big testing day. I'm nervous but getting very excited.Tomorrow may very well be the day that we finally get down to thebottom of what's going on. I'm also nervous because the news may not beas happy as I want it to be -- but then again it may! :hyper:
